From Dan Rafael's Blog post today: "...ESPN and Wladimir Klitschko's rep made a deal this week for the network to carry his heavyweight title defense against Dereck Chisora on Dec. 11. Like has been done with the recent fights of Klitschko and his brother, Vitali Klitschko, ESPN3.com will carry live coverage of the bout from Germany with a network replay (on ESPN or ESPN2) the following day. Good news all around. When the heavyweight champion fights, no matter who it's against, it should be available in the United States." For those in the US that want to watch it LIVE. As stated, it will be shown on ESPN3.com However, you don't have to settle for watching it on your computer screen. I'll be watching it on a nice big plasma. Here's how: If your computer AND TV have an HDMI port, simply connect a cable between the two, and you can watch live on your TV, instead of the computer. This is what I've done for other internet fights, and it works great. I got a 35ft HDMI cable at monoprice.com for around $30 total with shipping. There are other ways to connect to your TV, even if you don't have HDMI. Just google what you do have, or search youtube and you'll find videos that show you how to set it up. Remember, once it's setup, you can use it to watch ANYTHING (hulu, etc...) on your TV, not just this particular fight....so it's really worth the small amount of money and hassle to set it up. Update: You can now access ESPN3 from your xbox360! You'll need a participating ISP, and an xbox live gold account. If you've got those, it's very easy to watch! Just start up the xbox and navigate to ESPN3! Go Wladimir!
That's great news for boxing. PPV has pratically ruined boxing viewership amoungst the so-called casual fans. They have some balls to charge money to see Tua fight some nobody....................it's ruining the sport.
Fans have to stop buying these ridiculous PPV's. Pay to see Tua? Or Mayweather against another carefully selected opponent? Roy Jones latest folley? Just think , when was the last time any of these bull**** PPV's were any good? Hopkins-Jones? Mayweather-Mosely? Those fights sucked. And YOU paid. And the more you pay for this crap, the more will be made, at higher costs!
My guess is just the main event....that's how the previous two ESPN3 broadcasts of Klitschko fights have been.
There was an undercard fight shown on one of the recent ESPN3 broadcasts...but it might have been Bute-Brinkley. :think edit: Yeah, it was Diaconu-Sheika. :good
