I wish Chisora the very best of luck and I'd love to see a massive upset but this fight is a complete mismatch and shouldn't be going ahead.

Wlad shouldn't be appauded for staying busy if he's just going to pick fights with opponents leagues below himself. Just keep training and wait for the right opportunity!

People slagged off Haye for fighting Harrison but at least there's a ****-load of cash in it.

What is the point of Wlad vs Chisora?

 

British fighter gets a shot at the HW title of the World and you're asking, what's the point? and moaning about money.

I hope he does wll but he is way out of his depth. Horrible fight really but lets hope Chisora aquits himself well and does us proud.

 

I don't see how people can criticise either man for taking this fight.

I'm the first to moan about mismatches, but Wlad has been trying his ass off to get the likes of Haye and Povetkin in the ring, to no avail.

Look down at the rest of the top 10-20 and all you see is ex-Wlad victims, fat jokers like Jonathan Banks and oldies like Tua.

Chisora might not have fought above domestic class yet, but he's pretty much cleared the division now with the exception of Fury, who seems to have done a Haye and gone into hiding..... Euro level is stacked with crap fighters like Ustinov and guys like Boystov who are content to sit around and do nothing.

All credit to Chisora for being willing to step up to the plate. It's the heavyweight championship of the world for Christ's sake, he might lose.

So what?

It's all well and good telling him to wait for the ''right'' opportunity, but this is the right opportunity. Wlad is a big name, he's well into his thirties and doesn't like it ''up'' him. Better than doing what all our light middles did ten years ago and just sat around waiting for a title shot to fall into their lap.

Yeah, I agree with this to an extent. It's also one of the reasons that I think both fighters won't be around much longer, particulary VITLAY who I suspect may have just one or two more fights. The same with WALDO - if neither can agree terms with Haye then what else is left? I series of mismatches against subpar opposition? Is that how they want the ass end of their careers to be regarded as? I doubt it. I think that VITLAY retires after Briggs and WALDO - Haye fight next year. Whether the WBC title figures in that I don't know. Should WALDO win it would be a perfect fight for him to go out on.

 

chisora just isn't fast, strong or big enough to cause vlad any problems, but fair play for having the balls taking the fight. i hope his corner let him have a go for 5 rounds and once he's ran out of ideas pull him out, no point taking a 12 round beating as it could ruin his career.

Believe me, Im glad to see a British fighter getting a title shot. Ill be watching it (assuming its televised) and showing my support for Del Boy.

But what is the point for Klitschko? A win would prove nothing. If he looks bad in getting rid of Chisora he'll come in for a lot of stick and he won't even be getting a big financial payoff.
He just looks like a sixth former picking on the first years.

I'd have preferred to see him less active but taking more meaningful fights.

The reason Wlad deserves criticism is that neither he nor his brother are chasing the other guys ‘like crazy’. They’re offering fights with terms and conditions that are pretty punitive in nature.

So, not only is it likely Wlad’s knocking you out, but that you’ll be paid a pittance for it and come away with nearly as many expenses as earnings.

If the brothers offered slightly better terms, more guys would be willing to face them.

Wlad-Chisora is a depressing, barbaric mismatch. It’s like Holmes-Cobb for a sustained, pointless beating.

 

For Chisora its an opportunity to earn as much as he has made in his entire career in 1 night.

For Warren its a chance to show up David Haye.

For Wladamir Klitscko its a chance to get allot of press in the UK. Before the fight he can say "Haye woulnd't fight me, so I picked the next best guy in the UK" and after the fight with a large PPV Audience watching he can say "I WAN'T DAVID HAYE" and the press will not be able to ignore it.

As for the fight, it makes as much if not more money than his other recent fights. It will do 40,000+ in a stadium, he will get millions from German TV and the 100+ other countries that will show this fight.

The Haye vs Audley fight does 20,000 at the MEN which is the same as Ruiz. It will do a big PPV number but when you add up all the money from worldwide TV the Klitskcos get, Klitscko vs Chisora will generate more money than Haye vs Audley.

Its really not a pittance. Haye was going to get over £1million for the Klitscko fights in 2009. Infact they even offered him a bigger purse for the fight at Stomford Bridge.

Haye was offered 50% revenue split. No options.
Povetkin was getting $2.5million. No options.
Adameck and Solis will be there next mandatorys so will get $2mil+ with No options.
Valuev was offered $2million.

Who else is there for them to fight.

you can just imagine the bull**** the ABC's will pull should Chisora pull off the victory.

Firstly he wouldn't get the Ring title then the WBO/IBO/IBF will be wanting him to defend against different fighters forcing Chisora to vacate one or two titles, therefore fragmenting the titles again !

 

The money Haye will make against Audley will not go to you so what difference does it make to you? Why are you so upset that Wlad is taking a fight that won't make him much money?

See, this is what I mean. Wlad stays busy, hasn't got many other opponents to choose from and is fighting SOMEONE, and you criticize him for it, whereas Haye is fighting twice a year-one of the fights is against a fighter who (according to you, not me) is a joke, and yet you defend him?

As a boxing fan, how can you prefer a fighter to just wait, and wait? Who is there to wait for? If a decent opponent comes along he will fight them anyway because unlike Haye he isn't limited to only 2 fights a year, but if there isn't a decent opponent, why not take a keep busy fight in the meantime? If it bothers you that much don't watch it. Now do you see why I call you a nuthugger? So, so ****ing biased. I mean, you just said there's not much money in it, yet he's still taking a keep busy fight even though he doesn't need the payday, still keeping active and all you can do is criticize the man for doing that.


TFFP, the thing is that Wlad and Vitali won't be around for much longer. They're getting older and will retire soon. Who else is there that you can see having the same dominance in the near future? I know it could potentially be very damaging for Chisora but maybe he will only get once chance to face Wlad. He could look back on his career and say "I had one chance to fight Wladimir and I turned it down, and no one else came along to provide me a similar challenge".
