Yes, Wladimir Clinches too much. I hope the referees will be strict with him. Though i find it more forgivable as he gets older.
I havn't found the full footage, but the one available shows Louis taking a beating in each rd. Walcott's timing allowed him to slip Louis' right and comeback with his own right. Louis ate those flush rights all night long. God knows what kept him upright. Louis was a great offensive machine, but he was wide open defensily, as he had no head movement after delivering his punches. His jaw stood in the air ready to be hit if you managed to slip the attack, and Walcott hit home run after home run, all night long. Clearly, Louis had never needed much defense since all his challengers lacked the counterpuncher skills of Walcott. Power and endurance had always seen him through. The reaction of the crowd after the scores were read says it all.
Jennings probably made Wlad want to clinch 1/3. but, instead of clinching, Wlad should be tagging him and using his movement. ps: Was your name in the past on ESB, Animal_Mofo? you sound (type) like an older poster that used to be on ESB :hi:
The crowd booed when Mayweather beat Ortiz as well. If you haven't seen the full fight how can you call it a robbery?
Walcott gave Louis two close fights. One where he might've deserved the decision, and the other where he ko'd Walcott. Louis was already past his best when Walcott gave him those tough fights. There is no "pretty much" retired him thing going on here.
No he wasn't. He pushed your head down. You can clinch in boxing all you want anyway. Holding is illegal which is why Wlad was penalized.
Louis walked out of that ring with his head hung in shame and the crowd booing him. Walcott was cheered as the winner. That was one of the biggest robberys of all time. Joe make Louis look basic. Authentic greats take the rematch and over turn the result. Louis did exactly that in spectacular fashion.
Certain fans take the emotion and drama out of wins and losses by past greats to prop up the guy that you like...but you can never do that because you weren't around to witness this. There were bad decisions then. Rematches happen. Yet, you'll defend Wlad when he is treated and judged in the same manner. Nobody knocks Wlad's record, they knock his fighting style. He wins ugly. Louis didn't win ugly. That's the difference. Convoluted as this may seem, it's the truth.
Why don't you watch the available footage of the first fight and count the flush shots each fighter lands ? Walcott lands about 4 shots to 1. Louis looked like a lost puppy in there.
This is what Wlad should have been doing to Jennings , but he has nowhere near the level of skills. -*-*-*-* https://zippy.gfycat.com/CelebratedConcreteBison.webm -*_*-*-*
Walcott officially floored Louis 3 times in these 2 matches. But if you watch all available footage, you'll see Walcott staggering Louis many times additionally in rds were he didn't score these knockdowns. In the second fight, Walcott floored him in the third and was ahead on 2 scorecards entering the 11 th. He gave Louis brain damage in these 2 fights.
Surprise! Not everyone is a Star****er. You had a good thing going in your prime...Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Urban Cowboy, Blow Out! What happened to you man, your a parody of yourself. You look like Count Dracula but act like Renfield.
