wlad doesnt have a glass chin

boxing fans on this site think anyone getting knocked out means they have a glass chin!

 

Shut up newb. Wlad cannot take a punch trust me. He's learned how not to get hit which is great except for the facts his fights are boring as hell. Look how much he held peter. Everytime peter hit him he went down. He got saved by the bell in the ninth round. Wlad has a michael grant type chin. Plus he has paper skin. I've seen him cut by weak jabs.

 

With a jackhammer jab and octopus arms like that he needs no chin to win.

Sanders bull rushed him put him on the deck a few times and Sanders can hit too. He was never by any means out cold and got to his feet each time.

His chin is ok I think its his nerves. Against Peter he went down not cause he was hurt or the punch was special his legs were not there. He folded under attack. He had alot of nerves after the 2 disasters. But he is curbing that nervousness under pressure and is making himself a tough nut to crack. Even if he has a paper chin if you cant hit it he wont go down.

His chin is not glass never out cold. His losses have all been flukes. He may not beat Lewis but this Wlad vs the prime Lewis would be a very strategic chess match fight. Where as Vitali went in with bombs and made it a war Wlad will slow it down and use his hieght advantage to jab and cross from far away and out of the upper cuts range. He can stay out of trouble and maybe land a bomb on Lewis who unlike Wlad has been out cold. Not saying Wlad wins but he is alot better than most give him credit for.

 

Wlads problem WAS that he would panic and couldn't get his legs together as opposed to just staying calm and recollecting himself.(he may not even do that anymore, because we havent seen him hurt in so long...). He seemed to do ok against Peters rabbit punch knockdowns.

Comparing Grant's ability to take a punch to Wlad's is laughable.
As mentioned, gassing (earlier on) was more of Wlad's problems.

Getting knocked down by Sanders is like getting knocked down by Julian Jackson.... no shame in it at all. However, Wlad never got blasted like a Terry Norris or Herol Graham did by Julian Jackson. Even when Sanders dropped him.... he wasn't out cold like Norris or Graham.

 

Glass, maybe not. But, why is he always protecting it?

 

Who was the last fighter to catch Wlad on the chin? I don't think anyone's hit him particularly hard since Calvin Brock, and Brock only caught him once or twice. Last time anyone was able to consistently hit him, Sam Peter knocked him down 3 times.

Manny Steward wouldn't have developed this long, safety first style for Wlad unless he knew he was chinny.

 

His chin is really very poor, he's developed a style that protects it brilliantly but if anyone can manage to get through a few times he'll go over again, no doubt. He's fortunate there are very few heavies with the power, speed and skill to actually get past his jab.

 

You must protect youself at all times.

Sanders was not even close to the power Jackson had. Not even close.

Sanders hit hard, yeah, but he wasn't some huge punching KO artist.
