A boxer says: "It is all about winning"

A boxing fan says: "It is all about watching to see who has the skills to be the winner"

A non-boxing fan says: "It is all about the entertainment"

A lot of people who think they are boxing fans, are not actually boxing fans. They are fans of violence. You can tell who they are, they are the ones who complain about fighters being boring.

The OP is not a boxing fan, that is pretty clear.

Been watching boxing sice five and knew what a jab, hook, cross, head motion and what a high left did as a guard...wormed my way into a Lt. Heavy woman's house who was a boxing fan, to see black her welterweight husband's eye again while watching the fights on B& W TV in 1953.
Had the fighter she was rooting for did what tha twoman told him as she jabbed, hooked and crosssed while sitting on the couch he'd won. The husband swayed his head or brought up his left to block wild hooks of his wife....learned defence too all at the same time.

Rooted for Moore because I saw more of him on TV that The Rock.
Was a Patterson fan, knew he was too fast for Moore. Remained a Patterson fan to the end.
Win, loose or draw, as long as my man comes in, in shape and tries his best I remain a fan. Should he come in fat....I hope he gets beat because he has no self respect and wastes my time.

Ali was very big for his time at 6 foot 3 .... bigger than most fighters.......orangatang arms of 81/82 inches...used his advantage of height and reach...had weaknesses was boring...could have gone for it and KO'ed more limited fighters often two rounds before, or one round before....waited unill the cards were all stacked his way often....
Was behind on points vs Lyle and got his KO....and Lyle was not a speed merchant.

A 6 foot 3 Frazier or a 6 foot 3 Tyson would give Wlad problems....no one bobs and weaves, a 6 -3 Rocky would be hard to hit out of the Crouch...Crouch used by Dempsy, Eubank and a few others.

I expected much more from Haye even though I'd only seen him vs Valuof....so that fight was Valuof 2, with a man with a jab.
    '

There are 4 jabs, Wlad needs to learn the fleaflicker that Ali had in his bag of tricks. Ali did not have Wlad or Vitilie's power jab.

If you do not understand a jab determines distance, sets up a straight right or cross...that one can hook off the jab, or even jab off the hook....you can not 'see' a fight.

Dempsey learned to tuck his chin... few do that today.
    Read Dempsey's book.
The first thing Dempsey wrote about was the jabs....even if he fought out of the crouch....He knew Jab was half the game.

Yes I like a bang up will it go 9?....I can also enjoy, he got out boxed type of 12 rounder.

Many boxers/fighters can not side step....not going in, nor going out....odd that.

I don't like Wlad's style at all. He fights way too cautious with many times having great physical advantages over his opponents. To me, it seems he lacks confidence and doesn't have the warrior spirit.

That being said, it's his style and gets the wins. Fights every opponent available (though not great opponents) and represents himself well outside of the sport.

I guess it takes a special person to appreciate his style.

Agree about Vitali and Wladimir (except the love part). I can see why people wouldn't like Wlad's style though.

No, because P4P means "regardless weight division" and NOT "regardless weight".
Tyson was definitely an heavyweight, so if you consider Lewis a better heavy than him ---> Lewis > Tyson P4P

Very few guys with Wladimir's size have the speed and coordination. He deserves credit for a near shut-out against a guy who was listed as the #3 HW in the world and whom many thought would beat him. That's not saying Wladimir is flawless or particularly exciting, but if you can't give him credit for what he does, then that's just petty.

Yeah, but be honest, only ****tards ranked Haye as #3. Anyone with half a ****ing brain could see that he was a pretender rather than a contender.

Like I said before the fight, Wlad will beat him with ease, and then get more credit for it than he should. Most of Wlad's wins against legit top ten guys were more important and better than beating Haye.

are you boxing fans? What kind of question is that?

Personally my favorite fighters aren´t defensive or cautious and I do not find Wlad´s fights to be very entertaining.

But as a BOXING FAN I watch every Klitschko fight.

Boxing is about fighting not entertainment, I enjoyed watching the chess match that this fight was. Wlad did what he had to do, it is the way he fights and it is basic boxing keep your man off while you hit him. I never thought Haye would win, I do believe though that Wlad is getting to the end of his career at 35 and this was the only doubt I had in my mind about him facing Haye. I would also love to see a young Tyson style fighter close the gap on Wlad but there is no one at the moment who can do that.
