I can see that opinion. Im also not sure who to blame for that ugly fight. I mean, how do I know that if the ref had been harsher on clinching, Wlad wouldnt have beaten him easier? Should Wlad have not held so much out of principle, or when its your ass on the line, is it perfectly fine to do whatever the ref will let you if that makes things easier for you?
The only reason it may not be a waste of time to do it again down the road is because the Russians really poney'd up a lot of cash for that first one, and maybe if Sasha gets them excited theyll do it again.
Last I checked, cashing fat ass checks isnt a waste of time for anybody :good

So wlad has to stop bear hugging

But Floyd Is alloweds to throw a hook and then hold striaght away
To push off with his shoulders in the other guys face

And borenard is allowed to use every cheat in the book

Wlad may be cheating but I have never seen more effective defense than wlad
I think the klitschko style will dominate the heavy weight boxing ideology for generations
Small guys will never be a factor in the hw division again
Tyson in this era gets violated by the punch grab tactics

It does seem that if you are black, then Floyd is a masterful boxer and Klitschko is a boring bum. If you are white, its usually the opposite. It kind of sucks, but sports have always been looked at with "pride in your tribe".
If you look at someones posts and Mike Tyson was an exciting destroyer, Manny Pacquiao is a one dimensional fighter, Ali and Floyd are/were master boxers but the Klitschkos are boring bums who couldnt beat any atg's head to head, its pretty obvious whats going on there. If the opinions are opposite, its equally as obvious whats going on.

    Pretty much.

Pride is one thing, but it's still a punk move not to give credit where it's due for everyone, even if you're rooting for fighters for shallow reasons. Some of the criticisms both sides fling don't even make sense in a "devil's advocate" kind of way.

Bah. This isn't even cheating. Want to see cheating, watch guys landing 30 low blows without ever being ever punished and being defended on those very same forums with reasoning like "a veteran gotta do what gotta do to win" and "this is boxing not volleyball".

So, to be coherent, Wlad isn't even remotely dirty enough.

    No lowblows.

    No headbutts.

    No elbows in the face.

    No hitting on the break.

    No rabbit punches.

***** please. Some fighters are allowed to do whatever they please, and plaused for their "smartness".

So, Wlad is very smart and very veteran. And you don't see him ever fighting like he did against Povetkin. He was carrying him, and Povetkin wasn't fighting but jumping toward to hugh.

    :goodGood post.

I too once though it was Wlad iniating ALL the clinching, but if Potvetkin had come in with a jab rather than just lunging with his head down, Wlad wouldnt have been wrapping him up all the time.

Then again.....if he tries to boxe him, he ends up Leapei....landing 3 shots in 5 rds before getting KTFO.:think

For some reason, I don't imagine there'd be much overlap of people that rag on Wlad for cheating and those that ragged on Salido for what he did against Lomachenko.

    There will be some exceptions.

    quit crying

is povetkin such a weak little girl he couldnt do **** about it? Mike Tyson was clinched all the time early in his career and he still managed to shut people out, like tucker, green, tillis...... povetkin just failed miserably , end this gay thread now :patsch

Iceman, what did you think of Povetkins performance against Charr? Have to at least give him credit for showing up in great shape and throwing lots of nice combinations that we very seldom see in the heavyweight division.

Povetkin is a good fighter, but he has no real chance against Vlad. Vlad is underrated by some on this board, mainly because of bias..................all the lies told about him all the time.
