Haye is getting ripped, and fans are somewhat disgruntled with Wladimir also, but what I saw was a pretty good fight, with incredible speed for two heavyweights, and precision jabbing from Klitschko on an incredibly elusive target. Good showing by both, Klitschko the better man. The only problem is that Haye built up impossible expectations and we also know that Wladimir has much more talent than he actually shows in most of his fights. We wanted them both to let it all hang out, which didn't happen. Wlad did what he does best and Haye tried his best, and no one's going to do better; it simply wasn't the superfight for the ages that we all hanker for.

RJJ just ended up looking like a complete idiot next to Merchant trying to lecture him on counter and ambush fighting.

RJJ: "What I like with what's Haye's doin' is that he's ambushing Wlad and not wasting any punches!!!!"
Merchant: "Well right now he's wasting my time and throwing away the fight." :deal

Dwyers description of Hayes style as ambush is accurate. Those familiar with Hayes style will tell you thats exactly how he fights. The HW champ couldnt land a single punch on Haye for 6 rounds. Walking forward missing does not win rounds in the real world. Only in Germany it seems. Theres quite a few people here inc Klit fans who understand what Haye was doing

Wlad's has probably exerted himself more when taking a **** on a toilet that he did on Saturday night. He never even had to move out of first gear, he cruised to an easy win.

I wish he had exerted himself a bit more, at least we might have seen a KO then.

You are the only genuinly delusional contribution to this thread.

Wlad landed clean shots throughout the fight.

Quote from Adam Booth, regardning a shot Wlad threw in the 6th round:

"It landed as flush as it could have done."

    "it was a solid shot."

Wlad won pretty easily but in the same time the fight was hard for him, because he was unable to connect as often as he did in his previous fights. Haye has speed and blazing fast reflexes for a heavyweight. I don't like him, but you've to give him that. Wlad won easily because Haye had no answer to Wlad's jab, even if it connected a lot less than in the fights before.

In the second half of the fight, Wlad started to dominate. Neither fighter took risks, but Wlad won comfortable...

I agree with this. I strongly believe that Wlad's victory over Haye is being overhyped. That fight, was, undoubtedly, one of Wlad's toughest fights of his career. He struggled against Haye, and he knows it.

I saw the fight, and if Haye wasn't so tentative, he could've beat Wladimir. That's the main reason why Wlad won't fight him again.

People are ripping into Haye because he talked too much trash, and didn't deliver OFFENSIVELY. His defense was on point though; and he had Wlad thoroughly confused in there.

I haven't seen a heavyweight duck and dodge like that in years.

A weird detail is, that even if Wlad failed to KO Haye and fought catiously, after the fight I have come to believe that Wlad would have been a topname in any other era. Apart from good power and skill, he is utterly fast. There where parts in the fight where he beat Haye to the punsh, using sway backs.

The first 4-5 rounds were sort of competitve and its around the halfway point that Wlad took over. I thought Haye won 2-3 rounds but I wouldn't argue if you gave him 3-4. If, and thats a big if, Haye were to string a couple nice wins together then I'd be fine with a rematch. Haye is still a top heavyweight but he needs a couple nice wins to drum up interest in a rematch. Ideally, Haye would look to face the Chisora-Fury winner late this year and then fight another top contender early next year for the right to face Wlad-someone like Povetkin, Arreola, or Chagaev.
