    You Klitschko nut gulpers need to stop putting him in the same category as fighters who have LEGITIMATELY held the HW title - like Lewis, Ali, and Holmes.

    Klitschko is a *contender* and not THE legitimate champion.

    So is it vacant until someone beats Lennox Lewis then? Wlad was already the number one heavyweight before he beat Ibragimov and Chagaev, which was enough to establish him as Ring champ and legitimate champ in everyone's eyes

    He's been cleaning out the division for years, reapetedly beating top 5 heavyweights and other belt holders. I think its fair to become the recognised number 1 by beating enough top 5 fighters if there is no recognised champion- how else would you become 'legitimate HW' titleist??

    Lewis' title is vacant until the #1 and #2 HWs fight to establish a new champion. That has not happened yet. Nobody would have ranked Ibragimov or Chagaev as the #1 or #2 HW at the time Wlad fought them.

    And just so you know, the Ring belt is no better than any other alphabet organization's trinket. It's *meaningless*. Champs make belts - belts do *not* make champs...

    I have no problem with him being considered the #1 HW in the world. However, he's still *not* the HW champion until he beats the #2 HW in the world. Period, end of story...
