Wlad has *never* held THE legitimate HW title

chagaev. the lineage was broken decades ago man, it can never be repaired. who did max schmeling beat to become champion?

 

Wlad is the man in the heavyweight divison, whoever beats him will be the man. It might be a weak era but that does not change the fact that Wlad has beaten all comers and he deserves to be called the HW Champion.

I don't think its meaningless. How do you determine the number 1 and 2 fighters without some kind of consensus? Ring rankings are as good as we've got

It depends whether you're willing to make an exception in Wlad's case due to the number 2 being his brother

 

1. the ring rankings are the closest thing there is to a universal ranking of the divisions.
2. i dont remember any champ in history that made his own belt.

by the same token though, the man is your avatar was only ranked 3 by ring at the time of his fight with dawson (i believe) so his belt doesn't count either?

Super Wlad does hold the ring belt and 1 more major belt than Vitali and Haye. He probably is the man at HW right now but he has clearly never been THE champ in the way that all the great champs of the past were. He should have beaten Valuev and he needs to beat the second best HW out there (be it Vitali or Haye) before he can truly be the Champ.

The only place Super Wlad is considered the unified champ is on this forum.

 

What are you trying to prove? Vlad is a badass and a really fine HW fighter and champion, why the **** would you hate on the man, of all the cats in boxing that you could hate on, WTF of Wlad or Vitali done to anyone? They are respectful, humble, active, fight the best available competition, are educated and act accordingly, I mean what else would you want a fighter to be? This is **** is really weak, I understand the PAC-PBF ****, I mean it's polarizing, but what gives on the Klitchko hate? I mean they are two baddest MFers going, point blank, they dominate to a point that the era is deemed "weak". He is the legitimate champion, in a weakened HW-division. He can't really do much more except getting the Haye fight.
