Yeah but has Wlad improved since those fights? I think he has and he uses his size well to boss the ring Haye's got to get past the jabs

    :good

Mormeck and his corner were expecting him to be throwing bombs from the start, but Haye and Booth had a strategy planned down to a tee.

Totally different animal Wlad obviously, but it's by no means a win or bust, KO or be KO'd in the 1st few rounds fight for Haye.

    Wladimir by KO

The funny about this fight is Wlad's chin seems to be the equiliser, but in reality, Haye's is far more questionable. For all Wlad's faults, he has never been knocked out cold, he has always got to his feet, he HAS taken shots from proper heavies, and more importantly his stamina has improved. Haye has been down to Lolenga Mock, proper down and hurt. He was hurt by Monte Barrett as well, people missed that, as well as Mormeck and Carl Thompson.

I think both guys know this isn't going to last, somebody is getting KO'd. Wlad will know Haye is very dangerous with his speed, his most dangerous opponent for a long time, and I think he'll commit to his right hand to get this danger out of the way quick. For that reason, and the fact he has better fundamentals, all the physical advantages, all the heavyweight experience, I take him.

Haye will come in recklessly with those right hands, he will catch a few jabs which will shake him to the boots, and sooner or later a right hand. I see him taking a few knees, Wlad will let him off and he'll hang in there a bit since he has good instincts, but eventually his equilibrium will desert him and he'll wobble everywhere and the ref stops proceedings.

It's funny to me, a lot of people give Haye more chance against Wlad than Vitali, including myself till about a week ago, having thought about it closely.

Wlad, OK, his chin ain't all that, but he would most likely have the skillset, and enough speed to either keep David at bay or stop him.

Vitali, whilst being iron chinned, is a little slow on his feet and probably cautious bearing in mind his injury troubles - perhaps Haye could fight slightly differently and try to steal a UD.

Nothing concrete in there, but worth consideration surely?

Yes, McGrain made those points regarding Vitali and I sort of agree.

But ultimately, Vitali is durable and Haye isn't. That catches up over 12 rounds of fighting in the heavyweights.

And we're talking about a guy thats gone 12 rounds once in his entire career here, against lowly opposition which he cruised through. Not great basis to suggest he's a particularly good 12 round fighter.

Don't get me wrong I agree, was just throwing it in for argument's sake.

I don't understand why Haye has weak stamina though, roadwork isn't for everyone granted, but still you can make up for it in other areas.

JCG is going to give Vitali a few headaches. He can pose problems Sam Peter didn't due to being a fat Afrobum. We'll really see how age and inactivity affected him against a sharp operator.

Not to mention Vitali has zero motivation. His talk seems to be..."If I MUST defend the shitty WBC strap...I will". I don't think he has any real interest in the heavyweight scene except for trying to get Lewis out of retirement. He is happy to hand Haye over to his brother. He does not care about his belt, or any other belt. That seems to be the agenda behind his return, but its not going to happen for him.

    Tough one.

He seems to be obsessed with Lennox Lewis, I suppose understandably, bearing in mind what happened. Trouble is, Lennox has a brain. He knew it was time to go and went. Most other boxers would be either skint and needing a payday or just thought 'why not'......

The fact that he struggled with Vitali convinced him.... nothing wrong with that. For me, I much prefer seeing people go at the right time (Warne, McGrath, Waugh) than seeing people carrying on for no reason (Tyson, Seaman, Corry).

Was that like a spot the odd one out? Corry. :nut

On a more positive note, I am going to be proven 100% correct on Berba. Onourgay thought he had the upper hand after 3 games. Berba is coming into his own now, fantastic, he will continue to bang in the goals and carress the ball into team mates on a silver platter.

Cozza went on a bit long, though I was always a fan of his.

Berba..... don't like him but he is the business. I like what Wigan have done, shipping out Heskey before he can go on a free and replacing him with Mido for next to nothing.

Villa won again.... glad my 40/1 bet seems good value!

Corry is like Paul Collingwood, all heart and guts. He was lucky to be surrounded with top players for a period, Collywobbles did not have that luxury.

Berbatov is indeed class. I think United are using him better now, getting the ball into him in more dangerous areas of the pitch so he's not coming looking for the ball. I nearly broke out into a frenzy of masturbation watching him stroke the ball around, I'm not sure the girlfriend would appreciate it, but he's beautiful to watch.

I dunno about Mido. Looked okay for a short period when he first came over here, but he's gone to ****. He brings some of the things Heskey did, but he's not a hard worker.

The only motivation for Vitali appears to have the Klitschkos hold all 4 major belts so I reckon that a fight with Valuev/Chagaev for the WBA strap is probably the only one to get him motivated now.

Both can hurt and be hurt, both have good skills, Wlad is bigger but more cautious than Haye.

I reckon it comes down to whether Haye can get past Wlads outstretched left swatting hand defence. Wlad can make himself very difficult to get to and I can see a frustrating night in store for Haye.

I reckon Haye becomes increasingly frustrated after falling behind on rounds to Wlads jab and leaves himself open to a big right in the later rounds and gets stopped after a brave effort.

I hope to **** I'm wrong and Haye starches him in Breidis Prescott style.
