Wlad likely does hit harder, with someone holding a pad and letting someone commit to a full blown shot, but I dont think Wlad commits to big punches against opponents alot of the time in the ring and possibly doesnt look as explosive due to that
I may as well add my two cents. Firstly lets look at the guys Tyson DIDNT Ko. Tills - Tyson was a young kid facing an experience journeyman and had up until then, not fought anyone. Tillis had already shared the ring with Weaver, Shavers, Thomas, Page, Witherspoon, Williams, Frazier, Coetzee, Biggs. Green - No one ever knocked Mitch Green out Tucker - Went the distance with both prime Tyson and prime Lewis and neither knocked him out, the only other guy who did that was Holyfield and Tucker fought better versions of both. Smith - Hugged and clinched all night and should have been DQd Douglas - Put on a masterful performance and Tyson was still able to drop him Holyfield - No explanation needed, the guy has a bombproof chin. Even then Tyson sent Holyfield flying with the first punch he threw in their first fight. Lewis - Also put on a masterful amazing performance, Tyson did have Lewis stumbling back in the first round with a jab left hook. Tysons KO's Berbick: Fought for a further 10 years, no one ever knocked him out Tubbs: Had never been knocked out until Tyson got hold of him, Tubbs also went the distance with Bowe Biggs: Was undefeated and had never been knocked out before until Tyson got him Holmes: Had never been knocked out before, fought into his 50's and was never knocked out again Spinks: Had never been down, let along knocked out. He lasted 91 seconds Ruddock: Tyson was the first to properly TKO Ruddock Stewart: Fought Moorer, Foreman, Schulz, Holyfield, Tyson was the only one who knocked him out in one round Savarese: Fought Foreman, Holyfield, Izon, Grant, Kirk Johnson, Douglas. Tyson was the only one who knocked him out in one round Williams: Fought Tillis, Holmes, Ferguson, Weaver, Cooper, Berbick, Witherspoon, Bruno, Morrison. Tyson was the only one who knocked him out in one round Seldon: Fought Tubbs, Bowe, Kevin Johnson, Mcall and Oquendo. Tyson was the only one who knocked him out in one round. Etienne: Fought Oquendo, Botha, Brock, Valuev. He also beat Lamont Brewster who knocked Wlad out. Tyson was the only one who knocked him out in one round Norris: Fought Tucker, Golota, Akinwande, Sosnowski, Jirov, Ofalobi. Only two guys stopped him in one round. Vitali Klitscko and Mike Tyson (although Tysons was ruled NC) Mathis: Went the distance with Bowe. Tyson knocked him out in three (much quicker than anyone else) Bruno: Tyson knocked him out (twice), much quicker than Lewis, Witherspoon and Smith. Botha: Tyson was losing the entire fight and only landed one significant punch on Botha which ended the fight. Golota: Fought Bowe twice and beat him up. Tyson broke bones in Golotas face with one right hand, which caused him to walk out mid fight. Tyson could punch, and he proved it. If Tysons punch power is overrated, so is Lewis', and Bowes. Between them Lewis and Tyson ko'd Bruno, Biggs, Botha, Ruddock, Golota. The only two neither of them could KO were Tucker and Holyfield. Tyson a) knocked out guys whod never been knocked out before and b) knocked out some fighters faster than other mutual opponents such as Foreman, Holyfield, Bowe and Lewis.
Secondly, Steward never trained Tyson, nor fought him nor sparred him and was Wlads trainer. Sounds like someone is a bit biased.
potentially Wlad hits harder than mke since he has a massive weight advantage but in reality of the boxing ring I don't think he does. still, wlad hits fairly hard.
It's difficult to say who hits harder really. They both hit hard enough to hurt and KO people so it doesn't really matter anyway.
Fairly hard Wlad is one of the best power punchers in heavyweight history. Since he got with Steward he has become a lot more rounded and economical. But look at pre Steward Wlad his hands where exceptionally fast and powerful for such a big man. Wlad over Tyson for one punch power. Tyson over Wlad for explosive power.
Wlad may very well hit harder, he has 20lbs on Tyson so he probably has more raw power and weight behind his best shots. But Tua probably has more raw power than both of them, power alone is meaningless it's how you deliver that power which is more important. Tyson is the better puncher. He's faster, punches far better in combination and is far more aggressive and commits to his punches more. Tyson's in there to hurt you, Wlad's just trying to win at all costs, whether it's by a KO or points.
Botha fought Tyson,Lewis and Wladimir k.. Tyson could punch harder than these by a F. Botha's opinion. I trust in Botha. F. Botha knows the boxing better than these pathetic klitards. I think these hysterical klitards can't accept the truth.
Tysons power came from the speed that it was delivered. When Tyson was fighting from Nielson onwards you could see that whilst he was still very heavy handed his speed of delivery was not there. Therefore he wasn't getting the reaction that we as fans where used to seeing.
