Of course he's showing balls right now. He really has nothing to lose and everything to gain by fighting Wlad, ie. Money, respect, status, etc. Taking the fight with a 45 year old Holyfield was not exactly a gutsy move, and Chagaev as far as I'm concerned is still a bit of a question mark. We'll see how much testosterone Ibragimov really has when he's actually in the ring with Wlad.

Yeh he is the number 3 heavy in my book after Wlad and Haye. Looks like Vitali will go for Rulsan then!

Ibragimov has a lot of balls. First Chagaev and now Wlad.

This fight will be very significant.

Who cares, its not like its the number 1 and 2 best in the division are fighting each other. Iggy got the WBO and defending it against nothing left in the tank Holyfield, at Toney was able to stop Holyfield 4 years ago, lame ass Sultan couldnt even do that. Wlads laying him out pretty easily, dont worry Sultan is going to run for the first 6 rounds until Wlad catches with a devastating punch that ends the fight.

Good news indeed! However,Sultan is a feather fisted runner who just has the wrong style to beat Wlad.
Anyway! Sultan is head and shoulders over fighters like Brook and Austin.

Ibragimov has a lot of balls I agree! Definitely more than BITCHSKO!

He ducked Briggs, he ducked Toney, and he ducked Rahman, but he couldn't duck Ibragimov!

    Ibragimov TKO 10.

    At long last.

I agree, Sultan must be given credit for taking a fight that he's clearly the huge underdog in, but then again, he seemed to be cornered, and didn't have much choice, but to accept the fight. LOL

Its kind of like crediting a skydiver for having the guts to jump out of the plane, when he was really pushed............LOL

    Kidding.

Huge credit to both fighters for doing what they know needs to be done..........What a great event for boxing.

Sultan has to resort back to his Panama Lewis days of aggression. If he swarms inside past Wlad's sledgehammer jab, he has a real chance here.

Conversely, if he sits on the outside like his last few fights, he loses and loses badly.

Sultan is quick enough and has enough sting on his shots (from the southpaw stance, no less) to trouble Wlad on the inside and smother the taller man's shots ala' his fight with Lance Whitaker. That's IF he's prepared to do that as he was against Whitaker.

That said, against the tall Ray Austin he looked confused tactically against a much rangier opponent and unwilling to take enough risk to get in. That must change.

Mayweather will have to show some versatility here as a trainer and instruct Sultan to show aggression rather than winning with countering from the outside where he's at a big reach disadvantage.

    Dead on correct.

As I see it, you are right. Sultan HAS to take the risks and get inside, even if getting inside means being exposed to Wlad's brutal left hand.

But once Sultan gets past the wall of cannonfire, he may be able to get some bodywork done, and a shot to the chin, before slipping back out. And repeat.

But that's gonna take alot carefully timed, fast movement, to get inside and back out, without getting is head taken off.

    Good post. I fully agree.:good

But on the flip side, I expect Wlad to be aware that the shorter Ibragimov will try like hell to make it an inside game, and I bet that while Wlad will attempt to keep him outside, and at bay, Wlad will also prepare for the worse, and start to work on his uppercut more, as he seems to be using it more, these days.

Good news. Finally the unification process starts. I cannot see Klitschko pulling out of the fight like Chagaev did. He obviously wants unification and Inbragimov earns a good amount of money with that. Smart moves by both men.

Right. Its the unification that matters. Ibragimov is in his prime and un-defeated. This will be a big win for Wlad. The fact that Ibragimov has the WBO belt means little. In some cases the WBO belt holders are better than the IBF, WBA, and WBC.

There has not been a heavyweight title unifcation match since Lewis vs Holyfield...I think.
