He and his brother were guests at a talkshow on bavarian television yesterday. wladimir said his next fight would either be the winner of the ibf tournament (he wasn't really excited about that) or the winner of iggy/holy (wlad hopes for evan), which enables him to achieve unification. vitali looked quite well after his recovery, he said he is not sure if he makes a warmup fight first or goes straight for the title.
that was a short summary for those who couldn't see it.

Wladimir is a cruel individual if he truly intends on seeking out Holy.

Holyfield would be a good scrap, after that one more money talk and his mandatory is waiting for him.

This is the last fight in the world that Wlad should take.

I don't think so. I've been saying for awhile now that Wlad doesn't have many options since most other fighters are already scheduled to fight.

Holyfield did look impressive in his last couple of fights and he just may have enough left to beat Iggy. If he does then unification is possible w/ Wladimir & Evander, and Holy still has a name as far as legacy is concerned, even though he is def. past his best. He'd be a better challenge than Austin was don'tcha think? :deal

As has been said, I think Wlad wants the WBO titleholder, not Holyfield. If Holy happens to have the title, then. BUt you make it sound as if he's specifically after Holyfield, and that's kind of twisting it. Wlad wants to unfiy with whomever has the WBO, period.

And just the other day, an article on Vitali said that he already told WBC bigshot Suliaman that he wanted to fight the Peter Oleg winner in early 08, without a warmup. I guess maybe Vitali is rethinking fighting the titleholder cold, without any warmup. I think rethinking that is a wise move, as he certainly needs to blow the rust off, first. :good

Wlad wants to unify. If the winner of Holyfield vs Ibragimov has the stones to risk their title vs Wlad's title, then Wlad will fight the winner.

What is the point in unifying with the WBO, the sanctioning bodies have never allowed the WBO title to unify with their titles, look at Calzaghe unifying IBF, WBO and how long he kept both titles for!!!!!!! All through history guys have had to give up the WBO title for a shot at a real title, Holyfield refused to fight Bowe for the WBO for that reason that it would take him out the other titles rankings. Sanders dropped the WBO to get a WBC shot. Its a mickey mouse bauble with as much meaning as Audleys WBF belt.

Yes, Barney is correct in that, for some reason, the WBO can't legally be unified with any other title.

But I don't think the legal rules of it are important, really.

Let them take the physical WBO belt, cause that won't matter. If Wlad wins the WBO in the ring, then its his, regardless of if he has possession of the physical title, or not.

Exactly. If Holyfield or Iggy has to drop the WBO to fight Wlad we'll all know that 2 belts are unified regardless of the politics..............

I wish Wlad would take a fight with Chagaev or better yet Peter after he rips Maskaev a new *******, I know Holyfield has a name which = money but to be honest I would rather see Tua fight Wlad over Holyfield at least Tua has the power to put Wlad to sleep. It just somes like Wlad fights fighters when there at there weakest not there strongest, aside from Peter in 05 he has fought fighters who pose no threat to him and that doesnt say champ to me.
