Wlad is already a greater champion than Mike Tyson.

He is? Tyson's resume wasn't all that special but still a bit better then Wlad's. His career 'defining" fight is the Chagaev fight and the dude has hep b for ****s sake. Outside of him, Peter and an old Mercer, what is there? And Mike, while he has been whooped badly in his career, was never done in like Wlad was against Sanders, a guy he shouldn't have lost against. Wlad's losses have all been to opponents that he should've won and he should be undefeated to this day. I know you can bring up Tyson's losses to schmucks like McBride & Williams but that was at the end of Tyson's career and he didn't even really want to be there. I am a big Wlad fan by the way.

Tyson didn't have too many guys like Corrie Sanders around when he fought. Think about it. Though no worldbeater by any stretch of the imagination, Sanders was a 6'3" 235 lb. southpaw with deceptive handspeed and major punching power. Certainly a unique fighter if I may say so and I'm not saying he'd beat Tyson so don't put words in my mouth but if ever there was a fighter who can catch someone it would probably be one that looked like a Corrie Sanders. If we're gonna play this game you gotta think that Wladimir wouldn't have turned in such pedestrian performances against guys like Smith and Tucker. Wlad is now experiencing what Tyson did two decades ago and that is being the top dog in a relatively weak division.

No need for comparisons but if the need does arise try to focus on what a Wlad/Tyson matchup would look like as opposed to how their opposition stacks up.

That was just Wlad pulling off some break dancing .. he can do it all.

He was really into dancing in his youth back when he was experimenting with homosexuality.

Someone posted the following on b-xingsc-ne maybe his relative or buddy or something ...

for those who can read german here's the link:

for those who can't i had my sister translate the part where wlad was asked about the rumors in the tabloids about he and vitali's sexuality.

here's the excerpt in german and what my sister told me it said.

the rumors about me and my brother is crazy. we're not gay. when we read these things in the tabloids me and my brother just laugh. vitali and i experimented a bit in our late teens but it's normal for young people to be curious in sexual matters. we tried it and we didn't like it and it was a long , long time ago. just two young men exploring and trying new things. my brother and i love women and we are totally heterosexual now.

If it's 50% flame I won't get riled, but let's be serious, the current crop of HWs is crap. Wlad's one of the best of a really bad bunch. Getting more decorations for his waist doesn't mean he's the best, IMO. His brother would be the undisputed king but we'll never get the chance to see it and deep down Wlad probably knows it. He's the one who mentioned him fighting his brother and wants all the ABC titles- it's like he's trying to prove something to us all. Vitali will always be the better brother, in my eyes.

Mike Tyson, when he was trained by Cus D'Amato and Kevin Rooney, was one of the top 3 heavyweights of all time. When he sacked Kevin Rooney and stopped training, he lost stamina and became vulnerable. If the 21 year-old Tyson who beat Spinks were fighting today, he would plow through the division like a knife in butter.

If Wlad continue to dominate for 2-3 years he will definitely be a greater champion than Tyson. Not better fighter but more accomplished champion.

Unfortunately for him, Hayemaker will KO him before the end of the year.

Tyson was like the bully on the block...until Buster Douglas, so before that he was viewed as a young phenom

Also Tyson was smaller and lighter than most of the guys he fought and he still ran right through them.

Wlad has every physical advantage imaginable and still produces dull fights. Chagaev offerd almost nothing yet Wlad still refused to engage him and KO him earlier as he clearly could have done.

Wlad is a great champion, even a hayehugger like me must admit it , but he will never be remebered the way a guy like Tyson is , Tyson was a killer , Wlad is an effective but ( for me ) dull fighter , even duller than Lennox , and that takes some doing !

Right now, the Klitschko Bros are the best heavyweights in the world, there's no denying that.

The main difference when comparing the three heavyweights is that Tyson unified the heavyweight championship and is universally considered one of the greatest of all time.
Say what you want about Tyson's career, but at one time he was mentioned with Ali, Johnson, Louis, Dempsey and Marciano, being the universal five greatest heavyweights of all time. People forget how fast his hands were and the precision combinations that D'Amato, Atlas and Rooney featured in his arsenal.

The Klitschko Brothers don't even come close to ranking near the top heavyweights of all time. In fact, I would rank both of them within the top 30, maybe top 20 of all time as of right now. Definitely these positions can change with respect to what happens next in their careers. Tyson is still many miles ahead of them with respect to all time ranking.
