Yeah he's great if you cant get to sleep at night. Fantastic but with that being said you cant even compare Wlad to Tyson because the level of competition now does not even match up with the heavyweights that were around back then. Klitschko would of been a force to be reckoned with back then but you got to remember that there were alot more fighters with a similar body structure to Wlad who were tall as well who could all punch and were fit to got 12 rounds so with all that said Wlad would of not been able to dispose of those guys without having to take a real shot to his cotton chin

 

So the answer is Wlad hasn't fought ANY great heavyweights, correct?

Which also is an acknowledgement that there were better heavyweights in the past than those he has fought during his career, right?

Snuffy Stirnweiss was one of the statistically better players in professional baseball (MLB) in 1945 and 1946 while all the able bodied men were fighting the war.

There are many hundreds of more fit, better, large athletes than Wlad. They are just off fighting the war in other places. Fans shouldn't get too carried away with their obvious non-greatness. Be happy for this brief moment in time when the Snuffy Stirnweiss' were at or near the top.:happy

After the war, his stats plummeted. History will bring us talented big men again and put the relative mediocrity of the Klits in better more accurate perspective.

and at this point there's really no great HW that can possibly come up. he'd never be recognized as great as soon as Wlad beats him, his only hope it to beat him, retire, and wait for that guy to make a new legacy which will feed Wlad's status, but the resolution will only be years after his retirement.

Its a valid point. However, Tyson did also Lose to two of the greats he fought other than Holmes that accounts for something.

I think we only have to note the many more talented fighters Tyson has fought and ignore any old men (even ATGS) as irrelevant.

I don't give Marciano or Calzaghe (and many similar examples like Dela Hoya / Chavez, Tsyzu / Chavez, etc.) substantial credit for their victories over old, or worn ATGs and so I don't to Mike either.

Tyson got his ass kicked by Lewis and holy twice....Other then these guys Tyson has a fairly weak resume.

 

Chagaev's bob and weave is nothing compared to Tyson, and he was able to do an acceptable job avoiding his jab and right. The problem was he didn't do anything once he made Wlad miss so Wlad could just throw jab after jab after jab.

You can be sure Tyson would of countered after making him miss.

What are you a boy? Holmes was 200 years old when Mike fought him. That fight meant absolutely nothing due solely to Holmes being so far removed from his prime.

An ass kicking is getting starched in 2 by Corrie Sanders - not what happened in Mike Tyson's losses to other great athletes. Mike took big shots over the duration and largely put up a decent battle. Running backwards like an uncoordinated giraffe while flailing your arms and falling down like the Klits is what separates them from great talents.

The point is it is ridiculous to compare what Mike Tyson did and who he fought with the weakass comp faced by two large athletes. Tyson is an ATG. Klit is the best of a lousy group of "C" level athletes - and can you imagine how Wlad would fare if he was Mike's size? He would be Jerry Quarry without Jerry's strong chin.
