Wrong. It is both elements combined that defines a shaky chin. And down twice in a twenty year career? Makes nonsense of your point. Again a troll or someone who has never been in a ring - which is it? After 23,000 posts I would expect a far better understanding than you are showing. Of course the time taken to make 23,000 posts would prevent you from ever experiencing firsthand that which you are so critical of. :deal
I'm sorry, but Wlads chin is damn near glass. There is something wrong with either his chin or his mental toughness, the guy looks like Zelenoff in that Hartley fight after the first sign of danger. While I'm not a Lewis fan by any means, I do feel he deserves props, he dealt with heavy handed fighters like Bruno, Mercer, Briggs, and Vitali quite well, he was hurt severely against all of them, but battled back to win by going toe to toe with them when the going got tough, even knocking out 3 out of 4 of them in the process. Wlads knockdowns are as follows, Panell, Williamson, Peter 3 times, Sanders 4 times, Brewster, and purrity, that's see, I would say all but Peter were journymen before knocking down or TKO'ing Wlad. What does that tell you, only Brewster and Peter went on to have success after flooring Wlad, all others have done nothing since. At least McCall and Rahman both had times in there career where they were top 15 again, Rahman even gained back the WBC belt in late 05, after Vitali gave it up because of injuries. All in all, Wlad never fought the tough oppenents Lewis had, as well not being able to overcome tough times the way Lewis did. I would take Lewis' chin over Wlads anyday, even in this weak ass division, it's only a matter of time before Wlad gets sparked again.
What are you talking about? When do you think Wlad had a glass jaw, okay, but then his mental toughness should be great as hell. With his superiror glass jaw he get into the ring with other heavyweight boxers. What great heart must he have. He had enough money, so he don´t have to fight. But i believe his chin is okay. He did not know how to pace himself because of false training. Wladimir won olympic gold in 1996. Nobody becomes a gold medalist with this chin you discribed. With Steward in the corner Wlad learns alot and he becomes a much better complete fighter. He had the better jab, great athletic, very dicipline and better footwork than Lewis. On the other hand Lewis was the more natural fighter with a great jab, uppercut. Wladimir learned more from fight to fight. And don´t forget Wlad always stands up, get in the ring and fight.
Don't forget that lewis face many big punchers in his career and been alot of great fights while wlad only been in one great fight and that was against peter. Wlad got destroyed by sanders ( who got tko by rahman)and never try to get that rematch while lewis avenge his 2 tko stoppage impressively.
I'm not questioning Wlad's heart, I am however questioning his chin and mental toughness in the ring, maybe you can answer a few questioning that have me a bit puzzled, why does Wlad clinch so much? Why does he panic at the first signs of danger? Why has he been floored 11 times, the majority of the time from journymen? Alot of posters on here seemed stunned after his timid performance against Iggy, I knew all along about his scared behavior which he displays against the more aggressive/powerful fighters, though agianst Iggy it showed how truly scared Wlad is of taking a punch, I, like many others, seen the fear in Wlads eyes that night, the last time was against Peter in September of 05. Wlad is very strong physically, but mentally he can be beaten by a journymen on any given night, something we seen before, as well as something we will see again, very soon IMO.
I don´t see any fear in his eyes. If he would be so afraid, he didn´t box. Against Ibragimov it was a tactical match and Ibragimov was waiting for the same mistake Wladimir make against Sanders. And Wlad don´t make it. He had learn to win a fight and that is what he will and have to do "win a fight" and he won. That what counts. He won without any damage and know he will fight against Thompson. This will be a different fight. Mayweather fight the same way and you praise it. Wlad fought an intelligent fight and did not do the mistakes of the past because he is an intelligent man.
It was one of the worst Heavyweight title fights I ever seen, what makes it even worse was that a unification match, something that has not been done in 9 years. Wlad used to be very exciting to watch, now he's just ok to watch anymore, his weak chin and lack of mental toughness at the top level as made him less offensive minded and more timid as well, which will gain him a limmited number of fans fighting that way.
....... Ibragimow was afraid of Wladimir klitschko and took no risk. It was Ibragimow who did nothing to make it interesting. Wladimir did the right thing, won the fight without any risk, he dominated the WBO Champ Sultan Ibragimow like Lennox Lewis do to David Tua.
Firstly, wlad try to get rematch with sanders and sanders chicken out. Brewster do it same but later accept to fight with good money. Purritty fight is not necessary. Lewis fight with " old " Tyson and Holyfield...another ones are exposed to been not that good.
Easy check. Lewis / Wladimir head to head prime. I believe Lewis would have had him out of there in three rounds by KO. If Lennox is 1.0 then Wladimir is 0.8 (but his career is not finished so may go up or down). We may see some positive qualities that remind us of Lewis - that is more due to the current HW scene and Wladimir cannot be called an improvement on Lewis. Some are even trying to say that being down in your career thirteen times already is better.:rofl That is definetely a china chin or some serious flaws. Got to be one. You cannot claim Wlad is technically better and stronger chinned when the facts show otherwise. Wlad knows this - and fights like the wounded fighter he is.
How many hits wlad takes? Idea of boxing is hit but not get hit. Example, ibragimov is underrated fighter. He was top amateur and give Savon hard fight and wlad win easily only left hand!! If wlad wins Povetkin, maybe Chagaev and Haye his record is definetly better than Lewis record is.
