No problem but first provide me with a source that says you have an IQ above room temperature...

I hope you realize that the things you highlighted don't address my third point -- relative difference in sophistication -- at all. (Even though I highlighted it for you). They just say that they're more complex.

It is a step in the right direction, however. Now please complete the argument by showing that they were significantly more sophisticated than Mesoamerican pyramids...and why.

Also, notice that the man who wrote the non-academic article that you posted didn't cite to individual pages of his sources. Thus, he fails your own standards for scholarly debate on a boxing forum, let alone as a secondary source.

I've made my point for the purposes of this discussion. How are you going to ask me to cite sources that meet a certain scholarly standard when you have not taken the time to cite any sources at all to back any of your arguments?

"Step Pyramids" are not as complex as "True Pyramids" until *you* can provide evidence to the contrary.

I see you haven't yet learned how to read.

Show me some evidence that you have an ID above room temperature.

And in case you didn't know, room temperature is 76 degrees Fahrenheit.

Not really, no. That's why I asked you to make the point more thoroughly.

I actually have no problem with you posting your source (and the guy does seem to be a qualified researcher according to this: http://www.citybuildingcontests.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=569).

I just found it amusing that a source you consider trustworthy didn't meet your standards for a boxing forum debate...which suggests that your standards are a bit too high. ;)

Also, I've actually posted quite a few sources, if you take the time to look. Most of them, while not pincited to an individual page, are academic. Yours isn't, but I still consider it reliable.

We're talking relative sophistication now. Saying that something is "more complex" is like saying it's "bigger" or "heavier". It doesn't tell you much. ("Heavier by a couple pounds or a couple tons?")

How much more sophisticated are the Egyptian pyramids?

Can you point to the features that make them more sophisticated -- that indicate that Egypt was, in fact, technologically superior to the Mayans or Aztecs (evidence of advanced math, sophisticated construction equipment required to build pointy pyramids, etc.)?

Don't think that your shifting of the goal posts has gone unnoticed. If it's your argument that civilizations less advanced than the Ancient Egyptians were able to produce the same level of technical achievement then the burden of proof is on *you*. I've done my part.

I'm not shifting the goal posts.

You posted a source that said that the Egyptian step pyramid was less complex than the Egyptian Great Pyramid. If we assume that you're right (and that Djoser's pyramid is a proxy for the Pyramid of the Sun), that still leaves the question of how much more complex it was.

The burden of proof is still yours, since you're the one who ultimately needs to prove something -- that the Egyptians were an advanced society compared to their neighbors. Pyramids are your only evidence of your assertion. So I threw out, "Well, what about the Mesoamerican pyramids?" and after 20+ pages all you've come up with is that the Egyptian pyramids might have been more complex, but you can't say how much more complex.
