Wlad is not the biggest draw but thats a lot of people but also take into account that ESPN is in most packages that come with cable or satellite. Allowing more viewers to see the fight. But thats good to know. Exposure to the HW division.
Most of income listed on the top athletes was endorsment fees and not actual income from their sport.Take for example Tiger Woods, the top earner if my memory is correct. It was like 95% of his income came through endorsments and very little from actual tour winnings. With the Klitchkos making something over 10 million American dollars per fight and fighting two to three times a year, that would put them at least in the bottom of the top 20 athletes pay. This is all before endorsments and Germany is a very wealthy country so the endorsement fees would reflect that.I dont think that the Klitchkos have made it public what their earnings are for whatever reasons but if they did,i'm sure they would be in the top ten in the world.
My suspension is if Pac fought Hatton in Germany, they would have also produced the same numbers if not better and If Wlad fought anybody in Vegas this past weekend, it would have done miserable numbers.
There were "no" empty seats at Vlad's fight. Klitschkos sell out all almost always. Vitali sold out at MSG, New York during a huge snowstorm. We were talking about 11,000,00 viewers on only one TV company.
Yeah, imprssive numbers. But Wlad is practically fighting in the country where he is the most famous. Of course his numbers will be huge. That's like being amazed that during Pac fights, more than 30% of Philippine's population of 88 million would watch the fight.
He sells in Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Britain, all around the world. He sells in America if USTV shows it. Could have been PPV, but not enough time.
The $45M of Pac is from earnings from boxing alone. In his fight against Hatton alone he earned about $30M including PPVs in the US and UK, excluding income from network revenues and PPVs in the Philippines. It also does not include his Nike endorsement and local endorsements as well. It's mind boggling how he bested Federer, the greatest tennis player of all time. But tennis has no PPV.
I would think Pac would make more of his income from actual ring earnings and less of a percentage from endorsments since the Philippines is not close to Germany in corporate wealth which is what drives endorsment numbers. Not taking anything from Pac who i admire greatly and would expect he would have better actual ring earnings than either Klitchko but the endorsment numbers of the Klitchkos would be interesting to see.
Uh huh, RTL ratings. I wonder what the Espn rating was? I have feeling it wasn't very high, even with it being free and all.
I can agree with you on this aspect because his boxing income are dollars compared to his local endorsements where he is paid in local currency. The exchange rate to a dollar is more or less 48 pesos. He's now twice a billionaire here in the Philippines. He could now be in the top 10 list in the richest person in the Philippines. Many don't understand why he is shifting his interest in politics when he could earn a thousand times the salary of a politician w/ just one fight with a low profile fighter.
No one care about boxing in the USA. Europe> USa Asia> USA Latin America > USA Prostitute bar> USA In terms of audience and media about boxing.
There are no boxing PPVs in Germany. The Klitschkos, Abraham, Sturm, Valuev etc. are all being broadcast on free-to-air network television.
