Wlad is so much better fundamentally as a boxer than Vitali

Look at them both vs Chris Byrd

The footwork and jab is not comparable

Yes, this is an uncontroversial statement.

I just don't get how people rank Vitali higher. Yes Vitali did better vs Sanders obviously and has the better Chin and Stamina but his technique and accomplishments aren't close

Well, ranking is a different question to technically sound.

I agree. Wlad was a pretty good technician.

The brothers have very different styles and it seems obvious to me that Wlad punches much harder and is sounder fundamentally. However if they would have had a real fight (not a glorified sparring session) I see Vitali beat-up and eventually stop his brother.

Vitali was more fan friendly and imho less often to foul. That said, at least on here the general consensus I see is that Wlad ranks higher which I would agree w too.

BTW, I have watched enough Wlad to understand he wasn't the jab(x3), clinch then right hand robot that I've seen ppl call him prior to the Brewster loss. Tbf, after that he did gain Stewards tutelage and honed his craft becoming a dominant champion regardless how boring he became lol.

That is true, but there is one big difference: Wlad was dirty to his cells, a cheater. And was also a coward because of his weak chin.

If they fought though Vitali stops Wladimir and i'm pretty confident of that aswell, which is why i have asterisk over Wladimir's reign. For me H2H he wasn't the best fighter of his era Vitali would've beaten him.

Vitali had a niche style, hands low, pushing punches, leaning back, standing upright. He's kind of like blanka in streetfighter: just keep barrel rolling out of the backwards stance or else lunge in with electricity by jumping in. This is a button masher technique. Same goes for e Honda: you can keep backing up and do the sumo pile driver, always in the defensive stance. Or else jump in with the 100 hand slap: again button mashing.

My buddy said "how can you lose to mike with that $hitty style." He then decided to beat me with combos, pre meditated moves, beat the crap out of my button mashing lol. It's just like wlad: he boxes with a higher skill set style: the jab is there, the kronk lean on opponents is there, the big right hand is there (eventually) a nice left hook, great ko percentage, while boxer Danny Williams said "Vitali doesn't hit as hard as Mike Tyson, but he hits more often."

Sorry for bringing up streetfighter 2 video game, but that is how I view their contrasts in styles. Oh by the way, to give some credit to Vitali, rjj once said "you don't see too many heavyweights with the punch selection of a Vitali Klitschko!"

That's a great q and I could see that argument but I can see the argument that Wlad will constantly hit Vitali with big punches and hurt him

Could understand the argument for either guy winning

The fact that it could never happen makes it a lackluster era for me.

It is interesting to see how often lesser skill is Trumped by physical factors.
Although Vitali had his own style & some skill was involved.

I am convinced Vitali would be better Head to Head-although Wlad is far more accomplished & Vitali marred by injuries.
BUT head to head at their respective peaks I am unsure IF Wlad is better against All Comers.

At least when the rules are strictly enforced.
