I wouldn't be surprised if Wlad is holding of the rematch to train.

I don't mean train as in to get fitter than ever, but light sparring sessions to get him over the mental block of fighting in the same style for a decade. A style that Fury exploited and showed the flaws in it the first time that they fought.

A lot of people are saying, "Why didn't Wlad just let his hands go?". This is to simplistic and shows that the person asking the question doesn't understand boxing and psychology and how these factor into Wlad's style. Wlad has spent ten years fighting men who due to a lack of size, skill and/or athleticism have been unable to get at Wlad and end up being a stationary target in front of his jab. Once this occurs Wlad then unloads the bigger shots. Due to Fury having the size, skills and athleticism to not fall into this trap he gave Wlad problems. Unfortunately for Wlad, due to his metronomic style he was unable to adapt and overcome Fury. The ten years of fighting and training in this one way would not be easy to overcome if the rematch happened straight away. You can't overcome the muscle memory of only letting your hands go against a stationary target, backing up in staright lines at the slightest forward motion from your opponent and grabbing up close in a few short months.

I expect that Wlad has been working on these flaws. He will then take a break, announce the fight date and then start his training camp proper.
