It's a brother thing Relentless - a dream come true for them. Unless Vitaly goes on to perform like the living band-aid he has been so far, Wladimir is supposed to be the unified, undisputed Champ who didn't get to unify... What matters is what people make out of him and his competitors... Peter is clumsy and overrated, Chagaev is a B class fighter, Valuev is a freak, therefore hail to the Klitschkos!

I didn't hear him mention Chagaev, at all, either, so I think you are right; they must be planning on Wlad holding his two, and Vitali winnning his WBC back then pressiing for the WBA........

But by that time, Valuev may very well have his WBA back if he gets his mandatory shot enforced in the next several months...........Vitali vs. Valuev would be alot more exciting than Vitali Chag.

Vitali won't come back as good as some are hoping.

Maybe this is the theory :

Maskaev/Peter happens, Wlad fights WBO #1 Thompson, then Vitali beats WBC champ. Klitschkos celebrate at the end of 2008.

Vitali is going to get beaten even if he makes it through training camp. Maskaev and Peter are both leagues better than a tubby Kirk Johnson and part time golfer Corrie Sanders.

Wlad Klitschko is not going to fight Iggy, Povetkin ( who comes first) and then Thompson in the same year. Vitali needs to fight a tune-up before matching with the winner of Maskaev and Peter even if he has that money in da bank guaranteed title match, and he's not going to fight two in the same year coming off a long layoff and of several injuries. I expect the WBC to unify with the WBA before the Klitschkos go into it.

Vitaly wont have a tune up before he faces the winner of Sam vs Maskaev. He is running out of time, and doesnt seem to take the risk to suffer an injury in a tune up fight.
Cant really see how the hell the injury ridden elderly Klitschko brother will come through two very demanding fights against the winner of Sam vs Maskaev and the winner of Gomez vs Virchis! My guess is:Vitaly will retire for good after he has suffered his next injury either in training or in his next fight.

    Unreal.

Are you Vitaly lovers THAT jaded? C'mon people, come BACK TO EARTH. Here we go again...

Vitaly is DONE. He is injured and damaged goods. He is OLD and hasn't fought in 3 years. He can't make it through a GD single training camp. Enough already!

    Pa-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze!!!

Move on already. It's NOT happening. Sheeeeez!

    :hi:

Why do you think Povetkin comes first?

Povetkin secured his #1 status in November, Thompson did so back in July. HE should come first.

    1. At least we have a Unified Champ now. It is naive to expect the four belts to be unified, it has happened few times in boxing. At least there is now a Unified Champ.

    2. We don't know if Vitali will be able to comeback.

In the upcoming months...Wlad will have to fight Thompson and Povetkin as they are mandatories in the WBO and IBF. That will most likely close out 2008 for Wlad while Vitaly gets his shot against the winner of Peter-Maskaev by the end of the summer and then try to unify by the end of the year against the winner of Valuev-Chagaev....
