Wlad K v. Tony Thompson

1-As there is no current champion, the best thing a top heavyweight can do is keep beating top 10 guys and unify the belts. This is exactly what Wlad is doing. To lose a belt at this stage would be to lose his leverage.
2-I'm almost positive the Thompson fight had been, if not signed, agreed upon in principle before Haye announced his move to heavyweight. Perhaps I'm incorrect
3-What does Haye bring to the table that forces Klitschko to drop everything and fight him right away? He's relatively unknown outside of the UK and he's basically unproven at heavyweight. Let him have at least one or two fights at heavyweight against decent opposition.

Exactly. Thompson has defeated Krasniqi and T. Ibragimov. Povetkin has defeated Chambers, Donald and Byrd. Haye needs to do more than beating Bonin to earn a shot at Wladimir, because as of right now both Thompson and Povetkin are much more credible proven threats.

I will say this, I find all this clamoring for Haye to get his shot ahead of Thompson and Povetkin very funny. People are all hyped up on Haye right now because of the Macca KO, but does anyone really think Macca, with his questionable chin and smaller frame than even Alekseev or Hernandez, would go more than two rounds with Thompson or Povetkin?

 

Thompson will be very motivated and should put up a competitive fight for the first 5 rds, after that Wlad should get a KO/TKO win in the following rds.

 

He's fast and he has power and given Wlad's chin, you gotta give him a chance. But I think his size and chin would do him in. To beat Wlad, you need to get inside to hit him and take a lot of punishment in the process. I don't think Haye can. I think Klitschko keeps Haye outside with his jab, soferning him up before he drops the right hand.

 

Iggy gets very little, of any credit from me. All he did was pose and try throwing practically haymakers in hopes of catching Wlad on his weak chin. Both men were as timid as could be, Wlad threw barely any rights the whole fight, for fear of being countered, and the one time he did hurt him and almost knocked him down, he showed no killer instinct, and decided to go back to his jab and grab style.

Wlad will not be champ for the next 5 years, his chin is too weak to hold a belt for that long at Heavyweight. Thats do the math, thats say Wlad remains fighting 2 times a year, so your saying Wlad will win his next 10 matches in a row? I really doubt it, only the extremely weak division gives him a slight chance of doing it.
