If they allow pro boxers to participate i fully understands why he will go for another gold.

But for the amateurs they will lose the higest achievement in the ams, the olympic gold medals.

But everything changes, if Wlad can win another gold 20 years after his previous medal, then it is a pretty good run.

if pros are allowed.... boxing is just following most sports by allowing pros. basketball, hockey etc. If the pros get behind it, we may actually see some dream match-ups that may never happen outside the olympics due to boxing politics.

lets face it, olympic boxing has been horrible for the last few olympics... of course there has been a boxer or 2 we like, but in general its been poor.... this could save boxing in the olympics

    why?

the boxing has been horrible..... actually the Olympics hasn't been able to sell out the boxing venue for several olympics now... onr of the few venues that doesn't see out..... and word was "either make significant changes or its on the possible chopping block"

almost every sport that has a significant pro league has allowed pros in...soccer, basketball, hockey etc....... natural progression to add boxing

Great, so we get to see Wladimir beat on some young aspiring heavyweights of the future, age 18-22.

What will Wladimir do when he's penalized for holding?
Nevermind, pretty sure he's got AIBA in his back pocket.

why do you guys all assume its wlad and only wlad that would do it..... I'm sure many pros from many countries would love a chance to go for a medal for their country

Yeah, I'm sure Wladimir would've wanted to fight Lennox Lewis for the olympic gold medal in 1996.:patsch

Part of the olympic boxing today is to scout the future, not have grown men beat down youngsters.

The ExCeL Exhibition Centre where boxing was held at the london olympics was sold out and packed to the rafters every day while other events had multiple empty seats.

Tickets for the ExCeL Centre were high on demand , nobody could get them and crowds in there rumbled the place.
Lennox Lewis and many others were there.

    Chef you are talking nonsense.
