Fair points those. Similar to mine, although I favor Wlad to win this. If one looks at his and Joshua's records, as a form guide, the idea of betting on the opponent, who has less than 20 bouts and has never been further than 7 rounds doesn't appeal, when matched against, if nothing else, a time-served former champ. (Not that I'd bet on this bout, btw) So, while I wouldn't pick BCS8's option "a", I do think the inexperience of Joshua is a big, big factor. And, typical of new blood entering the Heavyweight division, much stock has been put in Joshua because of his Olympic victory and apparent power. So yes, there is an element of overrating going on here. Wlad winning this is more probable, in my opinion. I'd say the bout is 70/30 in his favor. Too much experience in how to control big men (by whichever means necessary) and unless Joshua is going to show us something completely new about himself, he'll be KO'd or drop a wide UD. The former being more likely. Joshua will need to force the fight, take risks and, as you suggest, make it a case of 'who lands something big early' to get Wlad out of there. If he does that, he just might make it.
I agree with the points made here...and while Wlad is the older, inactive fighter (not good) I just feel that Joshua is the one here that has something to prove, and that is if he is a top level fighter. I lean towards Wlad winning...Joshua has to prove otherwise, and he might. But still lean towards Klitschko.
Indeed. Although, he did take a bit of a clump from Dillian Whyte - not that this would truly compare to a flush shot from Wlad, I should imagine. I'm guessing he's hoping he can avoid one of those, though
The problem is S ,we don't yet know if it was a case of Tyson's unorthodox movement making Wlad look so static and hesitant, that it really was the night the wheels fell off the Wlad wagon, due to him being past his sell by date ,or maybe a bit of both?
I've passed the 40 mark and when I did all those wonderful athletic things (well, maybe not that wonderful) I could do even at 35 were quickly a thing of the past. The decline is precipitous. Wlad seemed to be missing openings and generally out-quicked and out hussled.
If you have watched the amateur matches, you would know. Joshua's chin suspect. He went down a few times in an short amateur career and was stopped. Joshua has some heart when hurt, his amateur fights show you that. If Wlad lands his right or hook flush, he's going to win. Besides British based heavyweight don't exactly have the best record in the chin department lately. I'm not sure why.
no u flop, any eurochamp would have handled these chumps.eurochamp bellew just stopped haye, wlads best win. wlad is known for longevity, i've said it a million times. u not listening? the same thing if u saw pigs fly.
no becos ali didnt timetravel to 2009 to fight frazier when he had diabetes. HONESTLY. WRONG CENTURY MATE. what kind of t.it are u to confuse 21st century joe frazier with FOTC joe.
Cool. Now I know that the estimation of the great HerolGee is far more important than rankings or resumes. Thanks, brah!
While I favor several greats from the past to lay out WK , Baer is not one of them, too open and way to crude., you could not miss him if you tried.
