All 3 of these fighters have been so dominant for so long because they are effectively able to exploit "boxing". What they all have in common is the belief that boxing is a sport where only they should have a chance to hit their opponent, much like when they are hitting the heavy bag in training.

Wlad accomplishes this goal by using his freakish height and reach to keep his opponents at range, where only he is able to land a punch. Anytime his opponent works to get in range, despite all the punishment he takes to do so, he will hold and lean on his opponent making it impossible for him to land a punch on him, except if he makes a careless error. I wouldn't call this boxing I would call it exploiting his reach and the system that allows his constant holding to in effect make his fights no different than a sparring session where he hits the heavy bag.

Ward and Hopkins use a similar tactic. Since they don't have the height and reach Wlad has, in order for them to be the only person who is ever able to land a punch they will jump and throw a long punch from range, almost always with their head down ,as the top of the head is the hardest part of the body, easily able to break a fist, and can be used to cut and headbutt the opponent. As soon as this leaping punch lands they will immediately hold every single time, thus making it impossible for their opponent to land a punch.

In the end all 3 of them exploit "boxing". It's why all 3 of them are so boring to watch, why all of their fights are so one-sided. If you want to see a boxer use skill to do what they do watch Martinez use his "boxing" skills while he holds his hands down and uses movement and skill to evade punches not holding. Watch Mayweather use his footwork, defense, and shoulder roll to avoid punches. Watch Whitaker and Roy Jones use their reflexes to avoid punches.

Exploiting boxing rules so you have no chance of getting hit doesn't make you a p4p fighter....

if boxing was as easy as putting your head down and throwing a leaping punch into a clinch why dont you do it and become a world champion?

Ward does not have a distinct style he adapts unlike...he is a master of controlling distance and angles...

Bernard also adapts...don't put Klitschko in the same sentence as these guys...unless it Vitali
