Lewis dismantles him. There's always an outside chance that the Canadian side of his chin gives way, but the British steel is strong.
Lewis ducked Wlad. So there you have it... During Lewis's career. Manny Steward spooke on the future star in Wladimir Klitschko. He did the same about Tyson Fury... Therefore I simply cant rate the untested Lewis as high. I hope the same people that takes Lewis over Wlad also takes Wilder over Lewis...
I favor the guy who's got Steward in his corner, and give a bigger-than-average puncher's chance to the other.
That would be Lewis he was a bigger draw than Wlad. Lewis got that HBO money and Sky money while Wlad would only have RTL's backing him financially. You only have to look at their purses to see Lewis drew more. He was making $8 million when fighting Bruno way back in the early 90's compared to Wlad making $6 million or less for routine defences now. Wlad's biggest purse £15 million is dwarfed by what Lewis made vs Holyfield and Tyson.
The great Lennox Lewis in action: This content is protected Your words are no match for actual ummmm EVIDENCE. That Lewis might well find himself eating certain parts of Wlad for breakfast. Metaphorically, of course.
So that's your evidence? Lewis was world champion by fight 22. Most these guys that Wladimir faced in his first 30 fights (THIRTY), haven't even got wikipedia pages for goodness sake. I would post videos of Wladbot in his early days, but I'd have to ring his local village hall to check if the two men and the dog who watched it happened to bring a VHS camcorder with them. Or maybe I should post a video of Wladimir getting one of the many boxing lessons he received in his career? So tell me, of all the guys that Wlad has knocked out, what have any of them either achieved or gone on to achieve? I mean asides from going to back to cleaning windows or putting scaffolding up? I mean one of them must have done something? Right?
the two shouldnt even be in the same ring. Dont get me wrong, wlad had his own set of defensive skills to bring to the table, but they were too narrow to compete with genuine world class fighters with any real success. Wlad, as long as he spoils and fights to survive, would still be a handful for a few rounds until LL unlocks him and taps him out. VItali lasts longer.
wlad was never on contention for lewis title. he had just got wiped out in seconds by a retired guy who HAD never managed to get in contention and by a journeyman, and never even tried to prove they were simply down to lucky punches. Wlad was at the time at best an "IBO", "WBF" or "WBU" title holder, in other words irrelevant. unless you think sole WBF titleholders should get a shot at the world champion. those titles are for people outside the top ten if thats the only title they hold. later on, when wlad improved and learnt more dirty tactics, he might have landed a fight for lewis.
Weirdly I think the best chance Wlad would have is if we put the pre-Steward version in with Lewis as A) that's a Wlad was a lot more willing to let his hands go and B) Lewis' Achilles heel was his arrogance and young fragile Wlad is a fighter he might well overlook and get Rahman'd by. All things being equal though Lewis gets a nice KO for the highlight reel after a competitive set of rounds.
Prime for prime I would take LL, but only by a hair, as well I could see Wladdy giving LL a dog fight even if he clinched way too much.
I think Lennox would stop Wlad early. He usually did this against taller opponents who were dangerous. Wlad has a chance but I think the most likely outcome is Lennox stopping him early on, perhaps in the second round.
