Dempsey smashed a Wlad sized heavyweight by the name of Jess Willard. Dempsey was 6'1 187 pounds in that fight but he had the punching power of a larger heavyweight. Could he find Wlads chin?

I feel like Wlad would ragdoll him throughout, then again there’s always the chance Dempsey sneakily chins him once on the inside out of the million clinches Wlad would engage. Surely Jack would be used to men the size of Wlad trying to abuse the clinch on him?

I don’t know I think Dempsey could KO Wlad, he was extremely skilled, extremely fast and powerful if the rules favour him… yeah he could blitz our doctor but it’s equally as possible Wlad just does his thing, we need more film of a young Dempsey,

Wladimir stops Dempsey, not because of his size but because of the sheer difference in athleticism and skills.

Wlad smashed a Dempsey sized heavyweight by the name of Exum Speight*. Wlad was 240lbs pounds in that fight but he had the punching power of a large heavyweight. Could he find Dempsey's chin?

    * actually Speight was 20lb heavier than Dempsey but who's counting

No Dempsey is probably the most skilled HW next to Louis.

Wlad wasn’t just big he was extremely athletic. Haye is similar to Dempsey in that both were explosive punchers that were athletic. I would have to pick Wlad with his boxing ability and size advantage to win.

20 rounds in 100 degrees Dempsey shows him what it means to be a real fighter and wins rather handily

Honestly I think Wlad is too damn big and his style is not the sort of style Dempsey would do well against. Wlad creates space to muffle the attacks of the sluggers and uses his jab to both control the range, reset the attacker and to attack without taking risks himself. Know who else had a really good jab and gave Dempsey fits? Tunney is that dude and Wlad is basically better in every way than Tunney. Dempsey would have to blitz Wlad early and fast, before Wlad gets a feel for JD's timing and while Jack is fresh. It might be possible, though I'd not bet on it. If the fight settles down into Wlad's usual rhythm, JD is doomed.

I really think Dempsey stands a good chance here, despite the size difference.
Jack had a good way of bringing down those big fellas.
His hand speed, head movement and power means you really can't rule out the mauler.

The trouble with the Haye comparison is that he and Dempsey aren’t the same kind of people, Jack was a killer and an on the line fighter who wouldn’t go anywhere but out on his shield if he was losing.

Big & good is fine, but you need to be durable when facing a fighter not only as devastating as Dempsey, but as quick & ruthless, too. Guys like Klitschko or Lewis would always be in dangerous waters against him, because while they’re good enough to beat him, they can’t absorb serious punishment.

Wlad can't adapt. Dempsey takes it.

If Dempsey was 6’3 230lbs, I’d give him a chance, but you can’t have his style whilst giving away like 60lbs in weight against a man like Klitschko.

Would be like Wlad vs. Mercer except worse imo.
