Holmes didn't rate Ali's power, he said he stung like a butterfly, and if anyone should know its Holmes who sparred him for years. Ali got knocked down heavily by a 13 stone white guy and only survived the fight by a manufactured glove tear. I don't dispute Ali is above Wlad as an atg, but Wlad is an atg. Even if he lost tonight he'd still be an atg.

the problem is that it's impossible to have a reasonably intelligent discussion with people that view past greats as almost inhuman. Past fighters, due to the aura and nostalgia, are sometimes considered much greater than they really were. If anyone tries to compare ali, frazier, foreman to any contemporary fighter, its' almost like a sin.

Ali was an all time great, he had speed, fast feet although not great power, he could sting like a bee. He was a controversial, outspoken, charismatic, good looking heavyweight champion which almost puts him in an untouchable position - do not dare say anything to belittle him

Now let's get down to reality.

Ali started his career 31-0. What great opponents did he beat other than Sonny Liston, if you want to call him great? anyone else? patterson?

He then got KNOCKED OUT by Joe Frazier. I understand totally that he was coming back after a hiatus, but nonetheless, was still fairly young. He then lost to Ken Norton and then barely beat him by SD in re-match. He then went on to beat Frazier twice, Foreman once but he took beatings during those fights... It wasn't like he totally dominated them. Frazier and Foreman were good but would they have beaten Wlad? i would bet on Wlad.... Wlad is like a bigger, faster Foreman.

Then Ali went on to age and continue fighting for too long...

The thing is, he was just amazing but not unbeatable. He just had it all and was larger than life figure... He certainly was, to me, #1 or #2 greatest of all time. Times change though, athletes get bigger and stronger. Compare athletes of today vs athletes of 50 years ago, in any sport... they are superior. Wlad would've torn the heavyweight division 50 years ago, i have no doubt. People are very protective of past greats so saying this is almost like a sin, but it's reality.

as far Haye having 1/10 skills of Ali, it's just proof of lack of slightest knowledge os boxing. Haye was very very skilled, perhaps not as skilled as Ali but definitely more than 1/10.. In boxing, smallest of advantages can be effective. Ali was prob slightly faster, slightly bigger...that's it. People have to stop the nonsense of protecting the past athletes as they do; accept that athletes get better. I personally don't like comparing eras cause athletes are different.

One other thing I know, 2015 Jennings would KO 1978 Leon Spinks.

    Haye is nothing like Ali.
How dumb to pretend he is.

to be expected from someone who says ali, who had at the time been 2nd youngest to unify the crown and beat a slew of past champs, had fought "just liston".

I know the comparison was almost as dumb as Ali fighting Wlad, being like Loma fighting golovkin. Typhoon has to be the dumbest person on this forum hands down.

How old was Tyson when he started losing to the likes to Danny Williams and What's-his-name McBride?

How old was Ali when he lost to Leon Spinks?

    How old is Klitschko now?

If you are going to play this shit you can't have a pick and chose approach, you have to consider everything. Fact.

I actually started wanting wlad to win tonight so as to extend his needy legacy but the lies of these klitaards sends you the other way. not that wlad can really lose to newcomer Jennings.

Tyson wasn't interested in winning, pretty much period after prison. You can see it in all his fights post that, he was doing what he was expected to do.
