wlad Klitschko fighting in 70s

defenitely had to be kept away from foreman thats a straight KO waiting to happen.
Maybe beats Quarry and Norton could underperform.....Shavers now that would be a highlight reel KO....

 

Foreman had a perfect style to destroy smaller fighters. His best weapon were short arm punches, his thudding power didn't depend on much leverage. To beat Wlad, he would have to overcome a significant size and reach disadvantage and that was never his style. The short punches that knocked out Frazier or Moorer would never find Wlad's chin.

Wlad would absolutely destroy Quarry, Norton, Frazier. He has probably 80 - 90% of the power of Foreman and is much bigger, more accurate and harder to hit than Foreman. Ali and Foreman would be interesting matchups. However star power means nothing in H2H comparisons. I still believe that a fighter like Corrie Sanders would pose bigger problems for any version of Wlad than many fighters of much greater status.

 

That china chin glass jaw would be shattered quicker than you can say 'fine bone china'.

I don't think there is really much doubt, except from people on the extreme side, that Wlad would fare very well in any era, and probably be champ in a lot of them.

The Wlad of right now is an EXTREMELY difficult fighter to beat. He has hardly lost a round in years.

 

NO WAY could Wlad beat a guy from the 70's. It was the era when no man would ever survive, only black americans. God himself would have been ko'd in round 7 by any of those guys.

 

Everyone seems to think that Wlad would not survive against the 70's heavyweights, but I think he would actually do well because of his size, power and speed. Yes, his chin is suspect, but think about it, even Foreman would be small compared to Wlad, and extremely slow. Power wise, Wlad would be up there with all those heavy hitters. His speed and tactical style might have actually served him very well in that era.

 

Wladimir doesnt have greater reach than Foreman. Wlad 206cm, Foreman 208cm.

 

Exactly. This is just another hater thread puts fighters from another era in some untouchable category as if they couldn't be beaten.

Reach is not the only deciding factor. Height plays a part as well since a shorter fighter with a slightly loger reach is still having to punch up to his target. Especially when that fighter, in this case Forman, is used to being the bigger man in the ring.
