Would you accept someone reading into some of Ali's tougher fights/losses just asking?

Not that I have a issue with reading into Wlad's loss to Fury either btw.

Of course tossing out Ali's very late career.

Absolutely - but fights like Jones, Cooper, Mildenberger aren't good fights to use as stylistically and in the context of prime considerations, they don't offer much to extrapolate into what a fight between the best versions of Ali and Wlad brings to the table IMO.

Let me put it this way: If you drop a bowling bowl (Wlad's fist) and a feather (Ali' fist) from a building at the EXACT same, and I mean not even a split-second between them, but the literal exact same- time, which do you think is going to hit the other first in the face? You really have to think about the physics and the laws of attraction. Magnetisms, gravity, two heavenly bodies, no forum bias BS. Real length and mass exists in boxing. And THAT, my friends, translates into real, genuine, unbridled horsepower speed.

I think Ali would do better against taller opponents than most think, two of his best performances in the 70s were against the 6’4 Joe Bugner.

I’d probably favour Wlad but I can see Ali really frustrating him with his movement, speed, the timing of his counter right-hand over the jab and his combinations.

I think someone like Usyk would be a way harder match-up.

Ali always found a way to win; he'd have broken Wlad mentally before the fight even started, and then danced around him. It wouldn't have been easy, but I think there are worse HW styles for Ali. Usyk has a worse style, and so does Vitali. The Ali who beat Foreman and Liston has no trouble with Wlad: a much bigger heart, a better chin, and a will to win that is arguably the greatest the sport has ever seen.

Wlad ruled during a horrendous period for HW boxing, and he doesn't have any A-grade HW wins on his resume. He was underrated during his career and is overrated in retirement. A great fighter in the all-time rankings, but someone like Foreman would've smashed through Wladimir in a few rounds.

What is Ali going to say to Wlad that would break him? Wlad is too smart for Ali's shi*. Foreman isn't doing anything. He's too small. He's like the size of Usyk lol. Foreman needs to throw straight punches before we talk about him having a chance with Wlad. Wlad would have mowed down Lyle and Young.

Jones was outjabbing Ali. Wlad would outjab Ali worse than Jones.
