Frazier is a better pressure fighter and far more Elusive than Brewster. you’re right, they aren’t. They don’t have anymore in common than Alex leapai has with Frazier. last I checked don king isn’t 6’2, and lamon is shorter than him. last I checked it was a draw, he was 37, and has been coming off a more than 5 year retirement. It’s not like he was even knocked out.
Well you did, you claimed it was less than the level i named. Did Povetkin close the gap and move forward all fight non stop? Is Povetkin a two fisted banger? Is Frazier a two fisted banger? Does Frazier fight a mile lower than Povetkin? Is Povetkin taller than Frazier and 20 pounds heavier? Chalk and cheese. I never said anything about Wlad fighting inside. Who beat him via infighting post Steward? Frazier hits harder? Frazier has a better right hand? Frazier has a better chin?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!? Turn it up. It can be handy being 40 pounds heavier, more powerful across two hands, taller and hugely durable when fighting a guy 245 pounds. I'm sure you've seen his fights....maybe. Did he get dropped once he gelled with Manny? Really? Corrie Sanders? To try and lump Frazier with a sharp shooting southpaw (and the other two for that matter) half a foot taller who fights tall with way more reach is absurd. On top of this he was extremely athletic and strong. It would be hard to find a heavyweight much more different even granted they both had two arms, two legs and a heartbeat. All three you named are much much bigger than Frazier and very different fighters. But the big problem is that you keep flying back to pre peak Wlad in order to criticise which is disingenuous at best. Wlad's biggest enemy should be able to differentiate between the more vulnerable pre Steward Wlad to the one that had fully bedded in and become a lot more capable of winning. Should we be going to Jumbo Cummings? Bonavena 1? Well Frazier's best, possibly only chance according to some would be a very strict ref. Even then it's an open affair. Who stopped peak Wlad or had him in big trouble with body punching? Do you think Frazier can win the fight throwing a few punches to the body when tied up by the huge octopus? At this point do you think it's even possible that Wlad could win this fight? Who has beaten Wlad or given him a fight at sub 210 pounds? Who has Frazier beaten of Wlad's size and power? It's not the be all and end all but it's relevant to a point. At any rate i'm all Wlad' out for the next 15-25 years, maybe more. You can retort and then i'll leave you to your other debates.
Frazier is smaller and weaker than Brewster. He also has a worse chin. His 'pressure' will see him hospitalized. They're both small with no footwork. Have any actual measurements? I do. It's called Boxrec. Wait, so you're telling me that the last fight of an old fighters career is a garbage metric by which to measure a performance? Who knew. Pity your standards aren't consistent. I'm starting to get that alt vibe from you and its not very hard to work out whose.
Wlad too big and powerful. He'll just clinch Joe and stick a jab, even if he can't land the right or the left (he probably will)
Frazier (swarmer) vs Wladmir (outside fighter) Power: Wladmir Chin: Frazier Hand speed: Frazier Stamina: Frazier Footwork: Wladmir Accuracy: Frazier Ring IQ: Wladmir Defense: Wladmir Technique: Wladmir Combinations: Frazier Versatility: Wladmir 6-5 slight edge to Wladmir. I think despite how close my tallies are, this is just a bad matchup for Frazier. His only effective range is close range and he'll have to walk through a minefield just to get close. Wladmir's jab, hook, 1-2 are all going to sting like hell. Frazier has the talent and rhythm to be able to find a way to get inside, but how long can he stay there? Wladmir hates being crowded and can use his infamous clinch tactics to frustrate him. Frazier was a slow starter and may get hurt early before he can even find his rhythm to start bobbing and weaving. Even if the ref is strict, Wlad just has too many tools to shut down Fraizers offense. He wouldn't be dumb enough to trade hooks and can get off the ropes or out of the corner when backed up. Wladmir might even say damn the points and clinch hard anyways if he gets rocked or wants to tire Frazier out to go for a knockout. Conclusion: I would have to say that this may resemble bits and pieces of the Povetkin and Peter fights. Wladmir has a few scary moments when Frazier closes the distance and Wladmir may even need to get off the floor, but Wladmir is in complete control by the 5th. He stops a frustrated and badly hurt Frazier in the 9th after shutting his left eye completely shut with jabs and 1-2's. Frazier protests but Yank just shakes his head and throws the towel since they're down on the cards with no chance of a miracle KO.
You mean when you listed what fighters you considered punchers? For the most part. Which is why wlad quite literally clinched him more than he punched him in that you kinda of did here. what infighters did he fight? if peter’s more powerful and durable than Frazier, then I’m sure you can name examples of him demonstrating it in the ring against high class opposition. Unless his size is your only argument for Samuel. that doesn’t really narrow it down. Who are the top 5 punchers he faced? Did they land good shots on him? If so, how did he react? ok then name the examples where they demonstrated their power against good quality opposition. Frazier had 11 fights when he fought Oscar. Wladimir had 24 when he fought purity, 41 when he fought sanders, and 44 when he fought Brewster. He wasn’t some young newbie. I’m not saying Frazier will beat him with a few body punches. I’m saying that over the course of the fight, Frazier’s body punching would’ve worn down wlad far more than clinching and leaning would Joe. Of course I do. Just like you think Frazier simply isn’t favoured to win the fight, i don’t think Wlad is favoured to win the fight. We both think the guy we picked to lose could win, it just isn’t likely.
