Wlad is a good boxer. Not great. Vitali, IMO is on the lower end of great. He can go toe to toe with old lennox lewis while he was in his prime and survive and even win a few rounds. Frankly I do not see Wlad surviving beyond 1 round against lennox. Alot of the punches Lennox through Vitali survived from having an iron chin and from constantly RUNNING AWAY from Lennox. Wlad doesn't fight like that. He moves into guys, and if he got one of them punches clean he'd be out. Wlad can demolish c-rate fighters with ease because he can jab and hold and repeat. Povetkin was a little better than the usual bum so gave wlad trouble so wlad fought dirty. I feel like we are in 1980 again, it will probably be another 7-9 years before we see another great heavyweight. Wlad has not fought a guy who can hit him since Samuel Peters. And its not because he is an elusive or defensive fighter. He is fighting guys who would be journey men or worse in most toher eras. Fat guys who are not talented and can barely go 10 rounds. At this point you can't fully blame wlad, its not his fault the best opponent around today is probably going to be somewhere between povetkin or Tyson Fury. I'm not English but he is probably the best opponent left that Wlad can face. It be deluded to think either mitchell or wilder could win except by freak shot. Wilder is obviously ducking good opponents, picked up boxing at like 26, he has no chance of really beating a true boxer who can hit as hard or harder than him. In the best case scenario he knocks down wlad and wlad gets up and pummels him to a pulp until his minder stop the fight.
OMG I knew this excuse was coming. Wlad never could handle Pressure fighters. Tyson would have KOED him in round one.
I agree if they have a fair Ref Povetkin wins. Povetkin was throwing some hard ass punches. Some came close to landing. Povetkin took Wlads right hand out of this fight. Povetkin fought the right fight but the ref was insane. Imagine if Nady or Mills lane would have been the ref. Povetkin needs to stop being so nice and demand a rematch and his belt back. From what I seen Povetkin would have sliced Wlads face up and stopped him within 6 rounds with a fair ref. Povetkin looked like the better fighter.
Lots of dips here . Pressure fighters get clipped hurt and then resort to rushes . Anyone who understands boxing knows this . Vlad sometimes looks bad because he is so good . He can't be beat on the outside and he punches to hard to sustain pressure on him . And all the little so called ALL TIME GREATS would get beat the same way . live with it .:deal
I think this highlights why I like Vitali's style much better against pressure fighters, I mean the dude broke the compubox punch output for heavyweights against Arreola who pressured him hard (I think he had over 1000 punches if memory serves). Chisora put a lot of pressure on him too and he uses movement, counters, and awkward punches instead of clinching like Wlad. A lot more entertaining in my opinion.
Frazier would be completely helpless against Wlad. Worse than Mormeck and Povetkin. He's smaller, weaker and lighter than both of them.
You obviously didn't see his face at the end of the fight. He clearly did not look the better fighter. Regardless of the holding and other crap Wlad did, Povetkin's face looking the way it did was a result of punches landing, that is.....when Wlad actually decided to throw punches.
Wladimir in Germany with corrupt Ref. would win against everyone in clinchfest. But comeon this is no boxing!! This is i punch you but you don´t have to punch me. Under real Boxing rules with a fair Ref. he had no chance against a pressure fighter like Tyson, Frazier or many other Ex-Champions. You can not win against Tyson when you have no defense and only a Jab and cross. Waldi had no skills in the halfdistance or Infight but he is scary as hell. Under "Boxingrules" Tyson would finish Waldi inside two or three rounds easily.
You and dinovelvet MUST be the same person, I honestly can't believe there can be more than 1 person who would devote their life to wladmir klitschko and constantly hating on him. I reckon he would find it hilarious how he has basically ruined your life and left you a shell of a man who spends every waking hour thinking about him. :rofl
Well, this is what happens when Wlad on an off-night faces a very game opponent (to some, his number one threat). A complete shut out, with multiple knockdowns (I'd count 2 and a half..) and no danger of getting tagged or hurt whatsoever. It was just frustrating to watch, due to several reasons. The hate in here is ridiculous.
