You're belief is that Povetkin is at fault for Wlad fouling and to have yet to cease pushing that theory in every post . You are just typing utter dog**** nonsense.
Not entirely true but your attitude reveals you to be a fanatic not worth taking the time to explain anything to. And sorry but you can't stop me from discussing the fight with other posters. So you are going to have to deal with that. Your endless bitching at anyone who isn't calling for Wlad's blood is just making you look like a big baby.
Im not trying to stop you. Im just pointing out the stupid lenghts to have gone to defend Wlad , such as claiming Wlad could not punch Povetkin for fear of breaking his hands.
Bombing a straight right hand into the top or back of a man's lowered head is something I would not recommend. But you've made it clear that you don't think Povetkin ever came in low, so obviously you wouldn't understand that. If you watched Huck/Povetkin, you would see Huck in the same predictament many times with him drawing back his right and unable to unload it when Povetkin started ducking.
Povetkin came in low at the waist. His head was low because a 240 pound man jumped on his back. You can't tell the difference. Vitali repeatadly punched Kevin Johnson head because that was the only shot available to him. Should Vitali of jumped on his back instead? Is there no other recourse for a fighter other than cheating and fouling when another fighter closes the gap?
Vitali is weird, he'll throw double right hand leads at weird angles and all sorts of awkward combinations. Wlad is far more conventional, he will always lead left and throw a traditional right cross. And Povetkin coming in low, is going to make it very difficult for Wlad to land striaght punches. You can understand that or you can go on and pretend Wlad and Vitali are clones instead of two completely different fighters. Now when Povetkin misses a lunge and gets out of position at close quarters, he will drop his shoulder and duck below the waist rather someone is jumping on him or not. He did this constantly against Huck, who was the smaller man. This is because Povetkin does not know how to attack the body, and wants to restart from midrange.
-Nah, and you should know better having already referenced Oquendo/Ruiz. This fight really didn't become that unbearable until Round 8 and on. -I absolutely agree that Wlad took advantage of Povetkin ducking in and threw his bodyweight on him to wear him out. -Uppercut is a hard punch for a tall guy to land from the outside, it leaves you wide open to a lunge. That's why Lewis mostly threw it from the clinch against shorter fighters or in finishing flurries. I've only seen Wlad use a left hook/right uppercut combo sparingly, using when going for the finish as well.
Wladimir didn't look that impressive tbh. His most impressive fight is the David haye one. His footowork and overall ring generalship in that fight was really impressive.
And thats the problem right there. Wlad couldn't have his way throwing his usual 1-2 from a distance so he had to resort to fouling and cheating. Elbowing guys down on the neck, jumping on backs, excessive clinching is shameful cheating no matter what you try spin it. Wlad was to afraid his chin would be clipped and with the help of his currupt ref and the whole fight shut down. Thats all there is to it. Everybody saw it apart from you.
Purrity would beat Wlad even today and the fact he drafted in big brov to avenge the loss tells you everything you need to know. Brewster would prove again years later that Wlad was not equiped to deal with tough pressuure fighters.
Wlad didn't land as many crisp jabs and rights as he usually does, but he still landed enough to secure the fight. Wlad certainly rough housed on the inside but I've seen far worse, and it hardly determined the outcome of the fight as Povetkin was totally ineffective. Had Povetkin applied effective pressure, he would have slipped or avoided the few punches Wlad was able to get off and managed to clip the chin as you said. Instead of rushing in, eating jabs and hooks, missing over the top, smothering himself, and getting caught in the clinch..rinse/wash/repeat. Had Povetkin not walked into left hooks and actually landed one of those Gazelles, the hugging wouldn't have been an issue. And Wlad's body is there for the taking, Povetkin was just too set in his Olympic ways. Get over Povetkin's short comings, and watch the first few rounds of the Calvin Brock fight, that is how you pressure Wlad. Brock didn't have the stamina to keep such an epic effort up and eventually became target practice but he had the right gameplan.
The haters that twist the facts and fantasize how Waldimir Klitschko is some plodding idiot have an agenda that I can't figure out. A true boxing fan would not disrespect any champ that way. I've seen him fight and I am always awed by him. He took his losses like a sportsman and trained under Emmanual Steward and was very respectful and appreciative of his wisdom and Steward thought highly of Wladimir. Povetkin is a good/great pressure fighter and you saw what happened to him. Povetkin wanted him to hold him and push him because as long as he is doing that he isn't getting hit and after they break Povetkin could try again to sneak in a power punch but Wladimir always beat him to the punch.
Povetkin could not get shots off to the head or body because a 240 man was drapped all over him. Its hard to even stand up in that situation , let alone throw punches. I don't know why you fail to understand this.
Yeah, that is true that Wlad has trouble with aggressive pressure fighters. Actually I think Steven Seagal in his prime coulda beat up Wlad .
heres an idea then...dont lunge in waist low...instead slip move and get your shots off on the way in then the clinching becomes more and more ineffective...its really ****ing simple...the fact of the matter is..povetkin has no head movement and wasnt willing to take wlads power on his way in to get his own shots off so he just lunged in waist low head first and paid the ****ing price....its as if you have never watched a boxing match before in your life... ban this ****
