It depends on the competition. See, Vitali had to go to war for the first time in his career when he fought out of shape, past prime LL. Norton, Shavers and Holmes would put on the pressure and take this guy into the deep waters to see how he will react. That is what great fighters do.
Exactly. AS if Gerry Cooney is one the same level as either Klitschko, ridiculous to say the least. :rofl
I see it the same way. When the going gets tough, we know that Holmes can take it, I doubt Wlad will survive in a war. And also Holmes did beat Spinks convincingly the second time, and that was not a prime Holmes. Prime Holmes was the one against Shavers and Norton.
it takes wladimir 7 rounds to ko calvin brock, yet he ko's holmes in the same amount of time? you're using the whole "cooney competed with him" logic even though holmes basically dismantled him, but ignoring all of wladimir's weaknesses and disadvantages. heart, chin, speed, jab, fluid punching, footwork, and timing all go to holmes.
I think Holmes would beat Wlad cuz he could land some good shots on that chin..Wlad would be competitive for about 7 rounds and after that I think Holmes would take over with his right hand! Holmes KO 10
Cooney was a one dimensional fighter had one weapon his left hook. I don't think he ever went the distance before stepping into the ring with prime Holmes and still took Larry into the 13th rnd. Had they had the 12 rnd rule back then, Gerry would have won on scorecards. Wlad has far superior skills and training than Cooney and was mentally tougher. Cooney was scared shitless during the staredown with Holmes he would only look at his shoes although he was much taller than Holmes. Cooney never psychologically recovered from that loss. Taking all that in consideration I see Wlad giving Holmes a much tougher fight but that's IMO. These fantasy matchups are for dreamers...
