Tha was one of the greatest heavyweight fights ever. The Ken Norton of that night was a machine would have a very good chance of knocking Wlad out. Norton was a very hard puncher.

People forget how that the Klits are so dominant these days because the division is so weak. Holmes is just better than Wlad.

They're both good jabbers but Wlad would have the size avantage. Holmes would have to be in and out and I couldn't see him doing that for more than a few rounds without tiring.

I think Wlad would just be too big for Holmes to establish his jab.

He is not the big puncher like Shavers, Tyson....but he had a lot of power in his punchers.

Well, the Holmes of the Norton had certainly the conditioning to do it. Holmes jab was clearly better than Wlad's and the fight is pretty much dead for Wlad from that point on...

Wlad would have the size advantage but I am not so sure he would have a significant reach advantage.

Due to a height wlad has an advantage with reach coz he con poke a jab and than just lean back easy. Holmes jab is more accurate but wlads jab more powerful and the speed is pretty equal. So i can't see holmes easy outjabing Wlad. And btw wlad throw a very hard left hook from long distance right after jab.

The size advantage would give him a reach advantage because he would be jabbing at a better angle, it's not just the length of the arm that defines the reach.

I know Holmes-Norton was 15 rounds and not 12 but by the end of it Holmes was out on his feet. He was leaving himself way too open and a bigger guy with a better punch could have finnished him.

Klitschko has much more power in his punches than Holmes, both are skilled boxers but Wlad would wear Holmes down by the middle rounds with the heavier shots and KO him in 9 or 10 methinks. Holmes isn't winning a jabfest against a bigger fighter with an equally quick yet more powerful jab than he has. Revisionists are making Holmes into somekind of monster in the ring when he clearly wasn't. Excellent fighter but not a world beater. Spinks beat an older but not over-the-hill Holmes twice.

this would be a very intresting and good technical fight.

people as always only remember the old fighters good fights and forget the loads of times holmes turned up and went through the motions or was in much harder fights than expected with fighters like witherspoon and williams /even david bey .

holmes best performance was in his biggest fight namely gerry cooney.

holmes fought/sharp/fast/used his skills and concentrated throughout and put on a masterclass.

then against a 6.4 weak china chinned /little power williams where he matched jabs v a novice and struggled all the way through the fight to dominate.

wlad is way more consistent than holmes and would win 7 out of 10 IMO , as holmes had a good chin and great experience to be ko`d by wlad IMO.

holmes on his best day v wlad on his very best day i pick holmes to win but holmes had very few best days throughout his reign which father time has always makes a lot of posters forget.

If Wlad and his Big Brother are lucky, perhaps someday they can go to the IBHOF in Canastota, where Larry has one of his jockstraps enshrined in a tempature controlled, humidified glass case, so the original sweat from his groin area is still damp. Perhaps between the both of them, they could nearly carry it.
