you don't know what Holmes' jab looks like, nor his stature, nor his arm length, nothing. he fought guys who had better jabs than Wlad

Wladimir by mid rounds KO. Klitschko isn't Cooney.

None of those fighters stand a chance vs. Wladimir with the exception of Tyson and only early. If Wlad got Tyson into the middle/late rounds he'd pummel him and make him quit.

I think Larry would win on points or by a later round TKO. Vlad could have given Holmes a great fight, and if he were very lucky, possibly even upset Holmes. 80% of the time, however, Holmes would have been too much for Klitschko. I say this because between the two, Holmes had serious advantages in hand and foot speed, athleticism, fluidity, durability, and stamina.

Klitschko's stamina issues would be a factor here. I believe that around the eighth round or so, Vlad would slow down and breath heavily. At this point Holmes would turn up the pressure and dominate the fight.

It would be a great fight, though. Vlad would probably be more of a challenge to Holmes than anyone Larry ever fought aside from Tyson.

It would take longer than that for Holmes to win. In the early and middle rounds, Holmes would probably show Vlad lots of respect. Klitschko's power and size, combined with his competent boxing ability, would make the bout competitive during these rounds. Larry would be winning, but not by a decisive margin.

In my opinion, only in the later rounds might Holmes take total control and bomb Vlad out with repeated right hands.

they have already been mentioned, why don't you go ahead and read.

every single time he fought a guy over 6'3. Holmes is 6'3 himself, has much longer arms than Wlad, got more leverage, throw the jab from more than one angle etc. Wlad would never out-jab Holmes, but let's not focus too much on the jab, b/c Holmes is better at everything else as well i.e. combination punching, footwork etc.

I can't imagine Larry Holmes ever losing to fighters like Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster.

I agree, Holmes was better at those things but Wlad has more power. The main reason I think Wlad would win on points rather than by KO is that he isn't aggressive enough to go for the KO - unless he is in more control than I think he would be.

I know people will bring up the chin and say Holmes chin was better than Wlas, but I think he would have to land far more shots on Wlad to hurt him than the other way round.

Wlad and Lewis are 6'7" not 6'3 and fought at 20-30 pounds heavier than Holmes. Holmes never faced an opponent that size, not in his prime at least.
