I'm not even a big fan of the dude but I wish he could fight all the current heavyweight title holders this year so he can unify the belts. I honestly can't see any of them beating him so let's just get it over with and have a REAL havyweight champ again.

    Thoughts?

too bad its not up to him. Maskaev and Peter have to go at it. Wlad will someday have to fight the tournament winner (povetkin v. chambers). Valuev vs. LIakhovich will want a shot. but I could see him taking on Chagaev if he gets by Ibragimov. Chagaev just fought...so should be looking for a fight at the same time Wlad is..that would give him 3 of the 4 if he won.

Be good to just have 17 real champs i think , starting with any division where the real title is vacant . Wlad should get it on with Peter again.

Tyson should come back and knock them all out in the same fight !!! IronMike

So what does that say for the rest of the division? :rofl

I still say give Lennox Lewis 6 months to get some conditioning and he'll knock out any heavyweight in the world today.

What is it with David Haye? I haven't seen him fight. Too much Halo 3. I'm hooked like Tyrone Bigumms!

I would never consider Wald a sure winner against anyone. When things go his way, he looks awesome. But he has experienced unexpected melt downs against the likes of clubfighter Ross Puritty and fat golpher Cory Sanders , not to mention the very ordinary Lamon Brewster. Who knows? Maybe even the doughboy Sultan could surprise him.

I can't believe such shortsighted dismissal of Wlad is still going on. Yes, he had some poor performances in his career - like most great fighters. Unlike Joe Louis, Wlad was beaten by big Heavyweights, not by a cruiserweight by today's standards like Schmeling. Unlike Liston, he never quit on his stool. Unlike Frazier, Bowe and many others, he never showed up overweight for a fight. Unlike Tyson and Holyfield, he never resorted to dangerous foul tactics. He knocked out nine fighters who were never knocked out before, there are not too many fighters who can claim that. He is not invincible, obviously, but the current version of Wlad would be a dangerous opponent for any Heavyweight in history. Lennox Lewis, whom I rate very highly, would be a slight favorite against Wlad in his prime, but if he trained now for six months, Wlad would crush him.

Wlad should eventually end up as the linear champ but he won't be able to keep all the main belts.

After his probable win against Sultan he will pursue the WBA belt, but it may take a while till Chagaev/Valuev/Liakhovich decide to face him.

Thing is, I doubt he will be interested in defending the belts against the mandatories.

In fact, I believe he will vacate the WBO belt soon after winning it from Ibragimov, not to face Thompson, a dangerous fight of little financially repercussion for him, that will add little to his legacy, prefering to face Thompson later, by the time he's already made a name for himself. Wlad will opt to face Povetkin instead, who at the moment is a hot prospect and will atract much more interest from the public than Thompson.

He won't go for the WBC belt bc he won't get in the way of this brother Vitali, who is slated to face the winner of Maskaev/Peter and then should make a few defenses before retiring for good (that if he wins and if his body holds up this time).

As things stand, now, Wlad would be the wide favorite over anyone, bar none.

Madness , this is not biased because i dont even like Lennox , but he was one of the greatest (and i mean that) HWS ever , Wlad wouldnt stand a chance , Wlad is not a GREAT HW , period (im not debating this even if you reply, it is a statement). Lennox is far too great a boxer for him and would stop him guaranteed. Lennox may not have the greatest of chins but it is decent , Wlad hasnt got a chin , and wouldnt have the hart to deal with the great movement and power that would stop him in this
