how much does this loss affect his rank among the greats? still top 10?

does it make it worse if he lost the rematch?

Presumig he retires I think he can reasonably be placed in the top ten, yes.

Holmes losing to former light-heavy Spinks didn't see him banished. I think his old range (For me) of 3-15 might be questionable though.

    wow first post!

I had him as a high/mid top 10 (5-10)before this fight, but now i would put him high top 10 (8-10)

Still have him about six. It is acceptable to lose when you are 39

His legacy just got a boost in my opinion. ...For giving a prime contender an opertunaty at his age......unlike floyd

He's still there, top10. But now he's close to 10 than he's to #5 now.

It was inevitable that Wlad lost again eventually, I'm still confident he beats every other heavyweight, but fury had the perfect game plan (read: fought like floyd mayweather buy way heavier)

He's still in my top 5 fellas

Wladimir very good champion. I don't rate him as highly as the likes of Holmes on a technical level, but his record is pretty impressive. He lost, it happens. 99% of the greats have lost.

I'd put him at 12 All-Time, personally. That's where I had him before tonight, which means his standing hasn't taken a hit (to me).

These topics are always highly opinionated, which means there will be more of them down the line. So I'll save the lengthy assessment I did for future threads.

Wlad is still a great boxer. And he isn't exactly retired yet either. Not by any means.

It doesn't effect his legacy at all in my opinion and this is coming from a big Wlad critic.

Wlad's almost 40 and had been in decline for a few years now. I had him losing 5 rounds to Jennings which simply doesn't happen to Wlad. His jab was absent in the fight with Jennings and it was absent tonight as well.

I had him about 11th or 12th prior to tonight and he's still there now. In my opinion he could have cracked the top 10 had he remained champion and beaten the next wave of contenders like Joshua but now that he has lost, for me he will remain just short of the top 10.
