Chins are more or less equal, Wlad has the better jab, Wlad is better technically, LL has better footwork only by a slim margin, power is pretty equal also, if they fought three times each would win one, its a toss up for the series victory. Two very well matched boxers IMO.
That pretty much sums it up. Lewis also has better footspeed, he had a bounce and a skip to his style. Leiw has better defense too. Though, I'll give Wlad credit. Wlad's footwork is improving. His use of the jab and grab is making him get better too.
Lewis would have definitely made a tough fight forcing his will just like he did with Vitali, and I think Wlad would have folded as well, but maybe not this version of Wlad.
I can sense something akin to growing panic in both fighters. B'sides their height, reach and punching power advantages to shorter, lighter guys like Holyfeld, Mercer, Byrd and Brewsta, I feel that both Lewis and Klitschko had/have a tendency to retreat instictively from their own long left jab like they are afraid to follow it up ( Vitaly Klitschko even more than tose two just like an Olympic Sword Fighter), and they seldom go/have gone for the descending right with all body weight - maybe here and there, Lewis against Golota, Wlad against Brock, but not as often as they should to look devastating - now you can argue that has to do with Boxing IQ and awareness, Manny Steward and all of that, I say that neither the British Lion nor the Steel Hammer have what it takes to have legions behind them - that Gatti, Holyfield, Duran's all or nothing psyche - and the way they panicked/fell against McCall, Rahman, Brewsta, Sanders and Peter underlines what has been suggested, they are/were great boxers and great punchers too...
It's tough to compare. I think Lewis had probably a harder punch, but Wlad in his day threw combinations better than Lewis ever did. Chin would have to go to Lewis, IMO. Handspeed is definitely Wlad's. Some of his 1-2's are astoundingly fast. I think we need a few more years to see how Wlad's new adaptations work out. Right now he looks almost unbeatable, he might just stay that way...
I think that if they fought the difference would be mostly mental and would favour Lewis. Lewis would have a better punch selection and defense, than Wlad would, but the main thing is he can think better in a given situation and move more fluidly. Wlad, movements and reactions just don't seem to have the fluidity of Lewis', he seems to be saying now what do I do..which might only take a fraction of a second, but that's time he doesn't have.
lewis is more accomplished and I hate to say it but Wlad makes Lewis' chin look like granite. Thats why i cant understand why more fighters dont take a chance and come in on him,his chin is the weakest of any natural heavywieght I ever saw Tommy Morrison comes in a close second
wlad chin > lennox chin why is everyone voting for lewis chin over wlad??? wlad has never been ktfo by a single punch or laid out cold like lewis has.
