We would have heard something by now

Any recent word on the rematch going on as planned or has Wlad said anything, at all, recently?

Hopefully. He hasn't looked good in years. If he loss a close decision I could understand the rematch, but Wlad got stopped.

He should take the money and run. Imo.

    He had a great reign.

Boxing is a brutal sport, get out while he still has his wits about him I say.

Not saying he couldn't beat AJ in a rematch, just saying.

He should retire or take a farewell fight that's less dangerous.. That uppercut could have taken a lot of Wlad I feel he still needs time to recover I think a rematch in 2017 would be ill advised he took some big shots

Hearn's attempts to coerce him into another high profile, big money fight must not have motivated Wlad enough to take the fight

Here it is July 6, and as I understand it, Wlad was supposed to have said something about his future flight plans/retirement in June

Still nothing --- I think he has retired but he's not wanting to come out and publicly state it

I think that would be the sensible decision as he is completely shot. He was in great shape for Joshua but the timing and reflexes are gone. Maybe come back to take Bong squad's WBC title but the coward wouldn't even step into the ring with a 50 yr old Wlad.

He should retire. His reflexes are gone he had great run most title fights, second longest reign and 3rd most consecutive title defenses. Nothing left to prove. And in his final fight at 41 he took on the best division had to offer and held his own for ten rounds. Great fighter. Great career. HOF awaits

The latest articles I found ( 2 to 3 days old ) state that hearn is pushing for Las Vegas as the venue, and Hearn thinks (hopes) that be it may enough to coerce Wlad to take the rematch, as he apparently is more likely to fight in Las Vegas than fight again in England

A concrete announcement regarding Wlad needs to be stated so fight fans can either look forward to it, or be made aware of a different future title defense fight for Joshua

But after this long- and still nothing concrete ....

As I said before, I think wlad must be done with fighting, but is not too eager to state such

If wlad wants AJ again he should take a couple tune ups to assess what he has left and where he is at.

If they do fight in Vegas, that would be great exposure for AJ...

I used to be 100% for Wlad retiring, but he did surprisingly well against AJ. Perhaps with a different gameplan he would've won.

And a couple months of age shouldn't make a colossal difference in his performance.

As far as it being bad that Wlad doesn't seem passionate/hungry, who knows, maybe he'll be more practical/realistic this time instead of refusing to accept his age/limitations.

That's all assuming he takes the rematch very soon. If he waits another year to recuperate/decide/have some tune ups, he'll be way too old and should definitely retire.

For me Wlad seems like a guy who won't end his career in a loss. Especially in two losses. Even more especially when one of them is to Fury.

I hope he does. Great career, nearly ironed out the 'young lion' at 41 years old and has gained a lot of respect from that fight.
