The weakest of the past 50 years at heavyweight? As far as lineal champions go that includes Rahman, Moorer, Michael and Leon Spinks. At heavyweight I rank Wlad far ahead of all of them. By the end of his tenure he could conceivably pass Tyson, though he will never surpass him in excitement or entertainment value.

Miles? You mean a full length LIGHT YEAR ahead of Wlad.

Mayweather has adept skills in all facets of the game. Wlad has adept skills in distance, jab, several favored punches and footwork. He has no inside game, has no pocket game, has an average at best uppercut and employs his size and athleticism to a 1 dimensional jab and grab style that is complimented with excellent distance and right hands.

A HW comparable to Cotto's abilities that Mayweather fought would have had Klit out of there in 5.

A HW of Mayweather's skill hasn't been seen since the golden era. Lennox being a multi faceted fighter would have been the closest example and he'd trash Wlad out at his best anyday.

This is an absolute joke that Wlad, a guy who has presided over a completely barren division is rated with guys who have defeated multi dimensional, excellent fighters and that of course includes Mayweather even though he avoids certain people.

    Oh ****ing hell... lol...

There's no way when judging how Tyson beat superior opposition in vastly more dominant form than Wlad beat inferior opposition in safety first and unimpressive form where he looked vulnerable plenty of times and one could see where a good HW could easily exploit his vulnerabilities.

Tyson's win over Holmes alone is at least a dominant victory over an ATG.

Wlad doesn't even have a dominant victory over a universally regarded "good HW".

Longevity and dominance go a long way in determing greatness. To stay focused for so long takes great determination and inner strength. I can't stand watching Wlad, but you can hardly blame him for he's fought in. Unlike his brother he has at least sought out the best fighters. You have to at least give that much to the guy.

How you win is also a measuring stick in greatness. Who you beat as well.

So- Worst HW division ever + safety first = not great.

A win is not a win just because it's a win.

KO1 Spinks is greater than W12 safety first Haye.

He wouldn't have longevity or dominance if there was talent in the division. Other HW greats cleaned out diverse and talented divisions. It's overstated that Tyson's division was weak or comparable to today and shows modern fans' lack of historical and boxing knowledge.

A great fighter also needs to be able to fight when the going gets tough. Wlad cannot do that.

Boxers like Mayweather and Pea absolutely got in the trenches and dogged it out when an opponent was coming on strong and their defensive standard style wasn't working and the adjustment required going toe to toe.

Wlad deserves a spot in the p4p list, since he has faced everyone, with every style, and most importantly beat various guys his size and even heavyer or reachier.

What spot he should be in, that's difficult to say.

Resume wise, nobody in the actual p4p list have a more impressive and dominant career, and it's not even close.

But heavyweights have always had difficulties to be ranked in p4p lists because

1 p4p lists are made to make some fighters look good, expecially in the small categories

2 hw aren't considered skilled, while due to the higher difficulties to coordinate and move around a superheavyweight body, there even is the case that some hws are/have been way more skilled, proportionally, than smaller fighters.
Not to mention that p4p isn't only an expression of skill, but of general toughness and strenght.

Wlad's already P4P bear-hugger by sheer size and frequency of their occurrence. not biased either, triple G and Provo are my favorite boxers.

I don't find that shocking, but the problem is lb/lb, Wilder will enter the P4P ranking from the top and stay there

Wilder is lighter than Wlad so his win over Wlad is textbook P4P 225 vs 245
