yes a deal with valuev is problematic. u gotta deal with king and the WBA. even if wlad lands the fight he may have 2 madatories with chagaev and perhaps holyfield in addition to IBF's mandatory povetkin.

Then again, u'd figure Sauerland knows his boy is on borrowed time and could lose his strap against anyone. So, might as well cash out against wlad cause without that belt, Valuev is worthless as an opponent especially after the holyfield debacle.

But i dont think Dimitrenko is the WBO madatory, only in the #1 position. He must fight in an eliminator to gain 'mandatory status', eh?

my preference of opponents would be: (available fighters)
    1-Valuev
    2-Povetkin
    3-Toney
    4-Arreola

As for Arreola, he's a poor man's version of Peter circa 2005. Slower, less power, weaker chin and fatter. He's tough and aggressive with heavy hands but Wlad would take him apart w/o too much trouble. Arreola's punches are very wide and easy too see and w/Wlad's movement i could see him barely getting touched.

Of the 4 i listed, Povetkin is the most compelling fight who I feel is the 3rd best hw at least in a H2h sense. But Valuev is unification, so I'd like to see that first.

No matter who the opponent is, I will definitely be going to the fight if it's at Staples. Thanks for the inside info again, CHEF :happy

He is WBO Mandatory but Wlad has until sometime in 2010. WBO gave wlad "super champ" title. That gives Wlad 24 months between mandatories

    Arreola isn't a club fighter.

I think he would KO Haye actually.

Better chin and more brute strength.

Haye has more speed and skills I think, but I can't see Haye going all fight without getting caught.

Cant be arsed arguing the point much, but Arreola is crap. He is powerful, and strong.

Whoop-de-****ing-do. You will find powerful, strong fighters are ten a penny in boxing. Its the ones with skills and speed who rise to the top.

Plus, Arreola's chin has been proved to be less than absolute titanium, so he is ****ed against Wlad or Haye. His defence is laughable, and if (who was that guy again) can plant him on his fat ass, what the hell do you think fast, accurate punchers like Haye and Wlad will do to the guy?

Both will land at will on Arreola, score multiple KD's and get a TKO, mid rounds. Both way to fast, skilled and powerful for Chris, whose one redeeming quality in a catalogue of weaknesses is his punch, which unfortunately, he wont be landing.

Any attempts to "talk up" Arreola are foolish. The guy sucks, plain and simple. He's fun to watch against other bums; but, he has not even beaten any one of note (or what passes for "of note" these days).
Wlad is better than this, and if this fight takes place, Wlad will dispose of him with ease, as he should.

I just think it's such a waste if you only fight 2 times a year to waste one on this scrud. If this is all that's left Wlad should consider retiring, or fighting five guys at once (like George Foreman did) because has nothing to prove against these types of fighters.

this is a fair analysis. if haye gets into brawling and away from boxing and countering like he has done several times in the past, Arreola has the advantage. Arreola is only really effective in close. He has pretty decent combinations inside and some heavy hands.

Haye did this against Barrett and got caught with some shots. He must fight smarter and utilize his boxing skills with more patience or he will be stopped soon.
