Wlad no WBA defence for 20 months

:rofl If the super champion has to defend against mandatories.. who does the regular champion have to fight?

I'm sure in 20 months time Wlad will be upgraded to WBA Super Duper Gold Champ though anyway :deal

It's pathetic really. He's claiming he doesn't want to sign up to one of their "slave contracts" now. When he was originally supposed to be fighting Wlad after he won the IBF eliminator in 08, I remember the purse bid being massive, won by K2, and giving Povetkin on his mandated share of 25% about 3 million, very good money for a challenger, or anybody really. Most boxers will never see that. Then wasn't the second pull out because he tripped over a tree root running? He so obviously wants no part of a Klitschko fight. It's a joke he can call himself a "world champion"

Because he couldn't fight every mandatory for all his belts they discussed the rule to have a long time between mandatories so he wouldn't lose any of the belts by just not being able to defend all of them in time.

The rule already existed before the WBA "Super" belt was even created of course, and was originally only if 1 boxer held multiple major belts.

 

And then soon after this he was stripped for not fighting Ruiz...
