I can see mercer winning if they fought in those midget like ring. Lewis had to do 4 steps to cross the ring.....

Lewis didn't use his jab near;y as much as wlad does. Wlad is VERY accurate with his punches. I see where you coming from though. Lewis often threw his jab as power punch getting his all body behind it wjile wlad use it in different manner.

I also have to point out that it was first LEwis fight under Emanuel(similar to Wlad0Brewster). Tou can see that Lewis had to adjust to new stile for quite a while. And i think that is main reason why Mercer was so successful. Lewis was somewhere in between his old sluggish style and new Emanuel style.

Mercer was an Olympic Gold Medalist the same as Vlad and Lewis...Mercer & Vlad each had 6 losses as amateurs...Mercer could box...

Lewis played chess in the ring his whole career and he only got into dog fights when either, his strategy wasn't working getting him tagged, or, he thought the dog fight was the best strategy....Not much kept Mercer off....

Mercer's problem was he didn't always train, as with the Ferguson fight and many others...He trained for Lewis...That Mercer would take Vlad in my opinion...

Usually thats how it is, but I thought in Peter fight he threw bombs early because he knew that Peter was dangerous to be around. I think he actually tried to KO him as soon as possible.

Thats true. I agree with that. Mercer had a great jab. But even then that doesnt mean that Wlad would lose to him. He has power to hurt him and he showed that.

Ok, I might agree that he did panic when he got hit, but after Peter II fight I believe that its all in the past. I thought that he was going to be very cautious against Peter in the early rounds. Peter came out swinging but Wlad just jabbed and powered him with his right. Different fighter for sure.
As for Mercer KD, wasn't it a punch to the body? At least thats what I remember and thats waht was said in the Wlad Mercer fight.

He lost to Lewis when he was 36. Beat 3 nobodies, retired, was inactive for a year and a half, came back, beat 4 more bums then lost to Wlad when he was 41. Please don't quote a bunch of pointless stats at me and don't pretend that fighters don't deteriorate any more in the 5 years from 36 to 41. You're showing great ignorance.

Mercer was 100 years old when he faced Wlad. Mercer was prime when he fought Lewis. Act like you know boxing. Stop faking like you root for the white guy all of the time you simple ass nobody lol... You post like you're about 3 feet 2 inches tall...

I don't agree that it didn't mean nothing. It meant quite a lot, Wlad was just an up and comer, that was a good test to see where Wlad stands.
Would you same it's the same as if Povetkin or Adamek beat Vitaliy? Because Vitaliy is almost as old as Mercer was plus was retired a lot longer? Just a question

Nah, Holyfield landed a left hook to the head that hurt Mercer. Mercer reeled back and then took a knee.
