    • Wladimir Klitschko's representatives offered former cruiserweight champ Jean Marc Mormeck (35-4, 22 KOs), who is 2-0 as a heavyweight, a shot at the title on Dec. 11. However, Klitschko adviser Shelly Finkel told ESPN.com that Mormeck's asking price was much more than they planned to spend on an opponent, so the fight won't happen. But Finkel added that Mormeck, whose heavyweight victories have come against Vinny Maddalone and Fres Oquendo in his last two bouts, said he might be able to deliver a lucrative site in Paris and that the fight could happen in the spring. "If Mormeck brings a site, Wladimir would be very interested in defending the title in France," Finkel said. Klitschko (55-3, 49 KOs) knocked out Samuel Peter in their rematch on Sept. 11 for his ninth defense.

If any of the other half credible contenders were willing to face him he wouldn't have to scrap the bottom of the barrel would he? It's funny how Haye's best win at cruiserweight is now seen as an absolute joke at heavyweight.

If I remember rightly...weren't people trying to devalue Haye's win over Mormeck, saying he was shot, and recently knocked out, etc?

Actually, first Mormeck and then Chisora. But it's not like he has a lot of options. Basically his choices are fight a scrub or don't fight at all.

This is why so many people think the Heavywieght division is in the condition its in today...Its quite sad when you cant even get a legit challenger because they're either acting scared (I wont say any names but you know who I'm talking about:-() or its not enough talent in the division to make intreging fights...This is getting quite sad IMO.

Sure sucks for Wlad though because he's clearly a victim of a ****-poor era in the heavyweight division....I dont think Mormeck would beat Chambers so I dont understand how he would get a shot at the champ when he hasnt done much to begin with...2-0 at heavyweight against sub-par talent doesnt really equals title shot IMO.

No complaints if he has no other options. Blame Haye and Povetkin.

Seriously why on earth do we want to see Mormeck in the ring? I'd rather see Wlad give Thompson a rematch, there is *ZERO* reason to see a 5"9 midget in the ring with Wlad, absolutely none.

He needs to MAKE a fight with VALUEV at all costs.

They need to quit undercutting that giant, and pay him what he deserves.

Pricin someone out is a ***** move.

Offering a career high payday isn't undercutting. But right now that's beside the point, as Valuev is injured and not even available to fight until most likely Spring, if ever.
