dunno if you guys saw this but there's an ad on channel 10 saying theres a heavyweight night on featuring wladamir klitschko on sunday, only problem is it's at 4am. edit: sorry i didn't see the thread already made about it.
SUNDAY 4:00am on CHANNEL 10 is correct. I thought my wife was on drugs (again) when she told me that it was on free to air. The last heavyweight title fight I remember seeing free to air was George Foreman......and I just couldn't believe it could happen...had to be a mistake. Alas the wife is always right. :deal
this will do nothing for boxing here. they would have been better off showing it delayed after Rove on Sunday night.
How can you say that? It's giving fight fans in Australia a Heavyweight title fight on free to air tele for the first time since the 90s. If Australian boxing fans get behind it, the show will have better ratings compared to the other rubbish it's up against, meaning it's a success.
I hope Wlad makes it exciting and doesn't just pull his jab jab clinch on us, or fight scared like against Imbragimov.
it starts here at 4am, i think i can do 5am. do you think they will show the whole card and use the hbo team? i do, it might be brought that way and thats the cheapest way to go.
I have to go out Sat night and im not sure what's worse, going the distance or sleeping for an hour or two and getting up? :tired
The distnce, if you can go to sleep aftr the fight, but for me i am starting work at 6, so ill do an hour or two sleep then watch fight, then tae the rest.
yeah only problem is I'll most probably be in an fairly ugly state. Hopefully the fights finished before 6? Looks like a big card!

A representative from Channel 10 told SecondsOut that they were testing the water to see what sort of interest there currently was for boxing in Australia. Good ratings could lead to further boxing matches being shown. The last live coverage of a boxing match on free television in Australia was then heavyweight world champion Riddick Bowes title defence against Jesse Ferguson in May 1993.
