SUNDAY 4:00am on CHANNEL 10 is correct.

I thought my wife was on drugs (again) when she told me that it was on free to air. The last heavyweight title fight I remember seeing free to air was George Foreman......and I just couldn't believe it could happen...had to be a mistake.

Alas the wife is always right. :deal

this will do nothing for boxing here. they would have been better off showing it delayed after Rove on Sunday night.

How can you say that? It's giving fight fans in Australia a Heavyweight title fight on free to air tele for the first time since the 90s. If Australian boxing fans get behind it, the show will have better ratings compared to the other rubbish it's up against, meaning it's a success.

I hope Wlad makes it exciting and doesn't just pull his jab jab clinch on us, or fight scared like against Imbragimov.

it starts here at 4am, i think i can do 5am.

do you think they will show the whole card and use the hbo team? i do, it might be brought that way and thats the cheapest way to go.

By Paul Upham: Wladimir Klitschko’s heavyweight boxing world title defence against American Tony Thompson at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday will be televised live into Australia on the Channel 10 free to air network.

A representative from Channel 10 told SecondsOut that they were “testing the water” to see what sort of interest there currently was for boxing in Australia. Good ratings could lead to further boxing matches being shown.

The last live coverage of a boxing match on free television in Australia was then heavyweight world champion Riddick Bowe’s title defence against Jesse Ferguson in May 1993.

The telecast of the Klitschko-Thompson undercard will commence on Sunday July 13 at 4:00am AEST local time. The main event is expected at around 7:00am.
