If I were handpicking a version of Louis for this fight I would want the one of the second Buddy Baer fight. At his point he had filled out to 207 lbs, perfected his technique and was prety good at dealing with superheavyweights.

It is possible that we have not seen the best version of Wlad yet so I will not make a firm pick here.

He would have to fight verry safety first against Louis to survive so the version that fought Ibragimov is probably as good as any.

    Jesus does Wlad get overrated.

So what the people saying that Wlad would KO Louis are saying, is that Wlad is the GOAT?

I rewatched the tapes of Wlad's fights with Sanders and Brewster after reading this post, and I don't understand what you are talking about. Wlad went down hard against Sanders, took what appears to be a nine count on the tape, and seemed badly hurt. He quickly went down three more times. If he wasn't hurt, neither was Patterson against Johansson.
In the Brewster fight, he went down a moment after the bell and was still down, crawling about the floor, over ten seconds later. When they got him to his corner, the physician seemed genuinely concerned and Wlad looked terrible.

I would go with the sabretooth.

They are much more robust than a tiger being built for grapling with prey more than for running after it. They are built much more like a bear than a cat.

The tiger might be able to use its speed and ability to leap to get the drop on the sabretooth first and close the deal but if they end up grapling or slugging it out toe to toe with their paws the tiger is toast.

The canines of a sabretooth are cerated on the inner side only so it kills by sinking them into its victims neck and ripping out the entire throat, arteries windpipe, the lot. Some types even had a blood groove on their canines like on military knives to alow fluids to escape.

Interesting subject , i've seen a debate over this issue for a long time.

A "Natuur & wetenschap" magazine (basically a Dutch version of Nature) had an article on it, somewhere in 1999 or 2000. I think they had several computer models on it with a bit of speculation of the amount of muscle in the legs, giving a speed between 5 and 50 mph, with the consensus a bit in between.

To be honest i find it hard to imagine a Tyrranosaurus doing 50 mph (keeping up with the 4th gear of that car in Jurrasic park), but then again, i find it hard to imagine a Cheetah going 65 mph as well.

Another interesting note they made was that if it could go that fast, tripping would result in death because the speed and height would crush the entire ribcage and those Marcianoesque paws obviously couldn't stop that from happening. I don't remember what speed they were talking about, though. I'll have to dig it up.

Estimates from 15 mph to 42 mph have been published in the past.

I know one researcher who specialise in carnivorous dinosaurs and from what he says the emerging consensus is that we are probably looking at 25-30 mph.

My maximum recorded speed is 15 mph so I dont fancy my chances.

You're more agile in lateral movement though, maybe you could stick and move. Pump that jab.

Tigers prey on brown bears. Speed and agility takes it for the tiger.
