Wlad once again shows that he can adjust, and win in a tough fight...

I don´t think it was a great performance by Wlad and Tony proved much tougher for him than I thought he would. I was even worried about Wlad gassing out or getting countered and losing the fight at times. That for me made the fight more exciting than say, the blowout against Austin, even if it was not as spectacular.

But however unimpressive Wlad was compared to expectations, Wlad did win and won by KO against an opponent with a very unusual style. He didn´t capture the hearts of the public with this fight (at least not in the USA) but he got the job done and can move on to the next fight.

 

Klitschko's performance wasn't terrible, but it was far from great. Widdow_Maker is a pure nuthugger though whose threads are a joke. The hate he's getting is too much, but he doesn't deserve to be praised highly for his performance against this at best B- level fighter either. Wlad is what he is.. a dominating, limited and mentally fragile, but effective HW in a weak division who has a potential opponent or two that could give him a real challenge.

 

Huki, I agree with you in a way but I still can´t resist of reminding you how your favourite fighter Povetkin did much worse against Chambers than Wlad against Thompson. I was rooting for Povetkin, but I felt Chambers might even have won that fight.

Okay, Wlad is an extremely versatile fighter who throws an amazing variety of punches and has mental toughness equal to that of past heavyweight greats. No point of arguing with someone as nuthuggy as you. I'm realistic about my favorite fighters, you aren't. I actually consider Povetkin B+ level and Klitschko A-. I can't wait for this fight. It's a bit too early, but Povetkin should still take advantage of Wlad's weaknesses and win.

That's all irrelevant for a number of reasons..

I'm not saying Povetkin over Klitschko is a guarantee, but I favor Povetkin for very logical reasons and I'll get into again another time. Gotta go sleep now, later!

it was good not great,not exciting but ended in a one punch KO.so all in all a solid prefomance.

Thompson looked and acted like an upright corpse after 6 rounds and it still took Wlad 5 more rounds to stop him. Whatever the result it was hardly a spectacle

For some yes, for others in here he is too white. Sad really.

 

I wouldn't say he adjusted, it was more him getting comfortable.
