    Indeed:-
    Chin.
    Size.
    Power.
    Relentlessness.
    Pleasing style.
    Will fight anyone.
    Intelligence.

Is it fair to say that one of the things that drags their legacy down is the fact that neither of them beat the best opponent out there.

    Unfortunately for them it's....each other.

The Williams sisters did at least compete against each other!

To me they are equal. Wlad has got more fights, and more 'names' on his account. On the other hand Vitali has nearly perfect KO % and many of his victories were more impressive than Wlad's. I agree that Wlad accompished more than Vitali, but he lost to Ross Purity. Vitali lost only to Chris Byrd and Lennox Lewis. Being beaten by Lennox isnt a shame, as Lennox is being considered as top 10 ATG HW for almost all boxing experts.

This is a key distinguishing factor, yes. The brothers K, however do have a valid excuse in that theirs is a violent sport.

Right, and it is very convenient for them.

The downside is that they will hamper each others' success in terms of legacy.

If they get a free lunch then other fighters should get one too.

    Depends on who's remembering.
I'll remember Vitali as the greater.
Note that each one avenged the other's loses excpet Wlad's 'vengeance'
against a still not fully recoverred Lamon Brewster and his reluctance to give him a rubber-match (still 1:1 with the respect at Brester's side , Brester also disposed of him 1 round earlier ) .
Vitali has the better chin , stoppage ratio and had the slightly better opposition.

Vitaly for sure. NOONE has beat him fair and square (barring injuries) - noone. He has consistently pproven to have a higher level than his brother.

His brother may in the end have the longer and perhaps better resume, but few people will doubt that Vitaly is the better fighter and would have beaten far more ATG HWs than Wlad would. Wlad could zone out against anyone if he had an off-day. Vitaly does not have off-days.

I see Wlad as a chinese badly made copy of Vitaly. Still far and awaty the best after his brother, and still a really really good fighter - but not quite Vitaly.
