I had a crazy dream last night, I was at ringside watching Wlad fighting Sam Peter, it was an amazing fight with both men getting rocked many times in this 12th round fight. After the fight I ended up having a ton more of respect for Wlad because he shown so much heart and a good chin I never thought he had, the fight was close and at the end I didnt know what the scorecards would read. Peter ended up winning by split decision, and my dream ended on that high note.:good

While my dream is probably one of the most unlikely endings possible, how do you see the second fight going? And do you see this fight happening in 08 or 09?

Uhm. Sam Peter might be a lot more cautious with just going after Wlad and Wladimir might be more aggressive after seeing McCline nearly behead Sam Peter

(I watched that right hand last night, **** I forgot how brutal it was)

I'd pick Wlad to win that fight by KO.

As Maskaev is too old. :happy

I think Klitschko keeps him at a distance with the jab and sets up big power shots. TKO within 8

I could either see that or Peter blitzing Wlad and knocking him out early, Wlad still has a very weak chin and all it takes is one good overhand right to put Wlad in panic mode. Peter has a good power, great pressure fighter, and his chin is above average. I feel Sam Peter has the best chance of any other fighter of beating Wlad at the moment, but will tell if this fight gets made in the future.

    Yes. Agree.

Wlad would would hurt him, then go after him, this time.

Wlad has many dramatic wins recently, is fully of confidence, and he also know knows that Peter is not the iron chinned destroyer everyone thought he was before the first fight, so this time he'd be more assertive when Peter starts to wobble.

In the first fight, I recall Steward telling him don't worry about power, just go for speed, so I think Klit was not putting all his power on his shots, as he wanted to stay on the balls of his feet in order to remain very mobile. But this time, I think he'd recall how McCline was KDing Peter, and Wlad knows he's got more in his shots, when he puts his force into them, than McCline ever thought about having. SO I think we'd see Wlad set down on his shots and Peter would not see round 8.

Wlad would take Peter out by TKO, of not clean KO.

Wlad's defence, especially his footwork has improved a lot since his
first victory over Peter. Wlad moves laterally now when an attacker
tries to bullrush him and he's not ready or set up properly to counter-
punch. Even Lewis pointed out in the Austin fight that Wlad was
stalking the huge Austin too much and not being his usual elusive
self. Turned out it didn't matter but when Wlad respects a guy's
power these days he makes his AVERAGE chin a very difficult bodypart
to hit. Finally Peter can't seem to keep his weight down to his
prime fighting form of around 240lbs. A slightly slower more plodding
version of Peter is going to be KO'ed in the later rounds by an ever
improving and an always in shape Wlad.

Peter will never be able to pressure or blitz Wlad. Peter isn't fast enough and Wlad's footwork and jab are way too solid.

Peter is garbage, and I'm proud to have been saying it since before the McCline fight. :D

If he gets his title from old Maskaev (which I've been saying what with all his flaws isn't a foregone conclusion since it was first announced - the first time - LONG before the McCline fight) - he should just be happy with that and steer clear of Wlad. He'd be just another victim, meeting with Brock, Austin & co. on Sundays for a good circle talk and cry.

He did in the first Peter/Wlad fight and ended up rocking and knocking Wlad down eventually, but Wlads clinching and ability to make Peter smother his punches allowed Wlad to weather the storm that night and win the fight.

I reckon it all depends on the ref. If he lets Klitschko hold excessively Wlad takes it on points. Otherwise I see him getting KOed or losing by DQ.

Yep, and who says he won't do it again? Wlad has improved even more. Whereas Peter got knocked down three times by someone Wlad dominated in McCline's peak in 2002, winning every round and stopping him in the 10th.

Peter has lost some confidence after the McCline fight and Wlad knows he can hurt and beat him, alright. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wlad stopping Peter.
I would like to see this fight if Peter beats Maskaev, which is no given (neither is Wlad beating Sultan, although i'd pick Peter and Wlad to win both).

I myself feel the Mccline fight was kinda a fluke of sorts, with Peter not preparing enough for his oppenent and paying the price for it. I think we will see the better version of Sam Peter when he challanges Maskeav in March, where I see Peter knocking him out brutally. I would love to see a Wlad/Peter 2, there ranked 1 and 2 in most peoples top 10 Heavyweight rankings.

I have yet to see someone in the current HW division who is able to win a point decision against Wlad. It certainly isn't limited, skillfree and dirty Samuel "Call me Rabbit Punch" Peter. To beat Wlad you have to knock him out. The first fight was as one-sided as it get's anyway and if rules were properly enforced, Peter would have been disqualified much earlier than Wlad because his fouls were much more severe and dangerous than Wlads holding. The first fight wouldn't be an indicator for another meeting anyway, the situation has changed a lot. Back than Peter was an unknown quantity and thought to be the next big thing by some people. But for Wlad it was a crossroads fight, if he had lost it would have been really bad for his career so he fought safety first. Now Wlad is one top and Peter is exposed.

Samuel will beat KLitshcko this time, i know Sammy looked awful against Jameel bt often he has a habit of looking awful when he faces lesser opposition, he fights better when he has a motivation factor.. McCline made him feel a bit deflated and the fact he was only fighting for a interim title..
